Steyn is out for tomorrow, no Morkel, no Kallis. The Saffers have basically their 2nd unit in the bowling department. The only real threat I see is Tsotsobe. Their batting is still pretty strong 1-5 though.
Given that, I'd still favor Pakistan because of the bowling they have. I see 6 world class bowlers in their team, along with about 4 batsmen who on their day can change the outcome of a game. I don't think the SA bowling will be strong enough to break down Pakistan before 250.
Going with Pakistan for tomorrow. What do you think?
I also think Pakistan is going to win but not handily by any means. Again, it'll all come back to the batting. Their bowling is arguably the best in the tournament and their fielding is good but if they're expecting 1 or 2 guys to score decent and everyone else is out in single digits like last game, they're in for trouble. Ajmal/Hafeez is a dangerous combo on the spin and if Junaid/Irfan can contain runs early, Pakistan can put themselves in a good place. Wahab Riaz is so on and off, he's a wild card to me. Either he's going to play brilliantly with the ball like he did last game or he's going to have a bad time. There's hardly a middle ground with him. Shoaib can come in as well if Wahab struggles giving Pakistan options.
It seems like either teams are scoring big or not scoring at all in this tournament.
I think they should put Shoaib in for Wahab Riaz. He has some batting ability, and he's pretty consistent with the ball. It's scary how good their bowling lineup is even without Umar Gul, who I think is a top 5 pacer in the world right now.
