My wife just called me at work to yell at me for finishing off the Pirate's Booty last night. She gives like 6 of them to our 1 year old... but they sooooo good!

Drooling at the thought of some Fisher's carmelcorn.

Bah, I have tickets for the game tonight but it looks like I'm going to miss the first period. I hate showing up late.

Don't worry... the caps won't be there on time either.

Key will be shutting down their PP and being disciplined. FL had 5 PPG against Tampa last night. Mind you though, Tampa took 11 penalties. If we are just disciplined, the talents of this team should be enough to beat FL. Ovi had 2 goals against FL last year. I predict 1 tonight.

Get the extremely low-fat popcorn, top it with ICBITB Spray, garlic salt, and parm cheese. That's what I do anyhow.

I'd almost put vcash on that the zebras this game call like 3 penalties, heh.

Hopefully this is AO break out game.

Didn't see the game... saw the highlights. Tampa seemed to do a lot of standing around.... then seam pass and quick shot from the dots and out.

Now that could be because they were later in their shift and they were tired after Fla maintained possession and zone time.

Fla seemed to rotate well between umbrella and overload PP formation... and tampa was slow to switch their box to diamond and back and get their bodies/sticks in the lanes.

Key to any PK is not take dumb penalties to minimize opportunities... and just ******* clear the puck to deny zone time. Soooo they do that. They'll be fine. We have the team speed on the pk to do it. We just can't win a faceoff.

4-2 Caps. Ovechkin struggles, 2nd + 3rd line carry team.

Feels like a trap game, hopefully i'm wrong...

Dont know if Tampa had an extra bad game or FLA got so much better, but based on highlights i saw Panthers did whatever they wanted on PP regardless of Tampas formations.

Sort of out of blue thought : I wish we would've got Bergenheim...

Just win!

Florida did a little "serving notice" last night in Tampa Bay, so this should not be a trap game for the Caps. Hopefully the Panthers got the scoring out of their system last night and come in a tad fatigued, but their PP was impressive. Weis and Versteeg both with 4 point nights, 2 goals and 2 assists each. Caps need to have some of their stars mirror that type of production in a game.

Disappointed Jose will not be in goal tonight, hence can't use the Jose will we see line that we used in last seasons thread when we went up against the Wild.

Looks like King will be the odd man out tonight, I don't really love Perreault on the 4th line but it's better than playing King I suppose. Hopefully Beagle ends up being okay. If this Beagle thing is really that bad would it be that bad of an idea to give Sjogren a game or two on the 4th line?

Have to wonder if Hendricks takes after Bradley tonight for Semin. I think there's at least a check or a bit of a scrum after a whistle.

Maybe that should be our new team motto, 'Always late, but worth the wait.'

Yes, there is a good chance Semin uses his unique slapfight skillset tonight to open up gash on bleeder Brads. And maybe Vokoun will be so dominant in net, the Panthers score FEWER than zero goals, resulting in first negative final score in history of sport. And perhaps Chimmer will resume his battle v. Kessel, Neal and nugent-Hopkins for Rocket Richard trophy by chipping in a hatty of breakaway tallies.

However, barring all of that, I'll settle for Caps win plus 1g, 1a from 8.

I agree with the poster who pointed out yest it'll be ironic if Neuvy turns out to be the chronically injured keeper this year while Varly finds his groove in Denver. I certainly hope it doesn't come to pass, but you never know, year to year, what's going to happen with tenders. One year the star is Rask or Boucher, the next it's Niemi or Corey Crawford or whoever. I am greatly enjoying Roloson's troubles right now. May they continue all year.

My 8-year-old was horrified this a.m. when i said Red Wings may wind up in our division next year. I think he was expecting more of a Nashville or Columbus-type squad. He was startled by idea of being grouped with perennial powerhouse.

That's OK, it gave me a chance to give him history lesson on the old Patrick Division. Back when blueliners were bunyan-like titans langway and stevens. (and our 'snipers' were people like Davey Christian. Goals used to be damned hard to come by for our team, esp. in the spring. At least now we are always a threat to pour in 5.)

GO, CAPS!!!!!!!

I think Ovy hits Brads hard sometime in the first period, and that's that.

Vogel alluded to something between Bradley and Hendricks on a Caps Report earlier in the pre-season. (Walton was on it, as well, so it was recent.)

A listener sent in a question asking something similar to what you were wondering and Vogel said something along the lines of "If Hendricks drops the gloves with Bradley he (Bradley) will know why." Walton then said something like "When you told me that story in Philadelphia..." and they let it drop.

Don't have the time to look it up now, but that's my recollection.

I'm willing to bet Bradley goes untouched and the cries of outrage for Bruce's head will ring loudly....oh wait....they do every game anyway.

It's pretty nice how scared crapless the fans of every team the Caps play are in their GDTs.
