Best Flames tonight: Kipper, Morrison, Jokinen, Sarich

Stempniak, Borque, & Hannan were notable as well

Great win, and to get it done in regulation was even better.

3 stars of the game:

1. Kiprusoff
2. Jokinen
3. Morrison

Love reading the Oilers PGT. Bunch of losers. As for the Flames, I will not get my hopes up yet. Let's see what happens Thursday.

I'd agree with that. I liked Hannan's hit on Smyth, welcome back to Alberta Ryan.

Wohoo! good win over the oilers. I predicted a loss, but I am happily wrong! Can't stand losing to the oilers.

Great game by Kipper, saved our butts far too many times.

Remember the good ol' days, like in 2004, when scoring the first goal was practically a guaranteed win?

Those were the days.

It definitely showed that a team had "structure" and an identity.

I don't want a team that can't hold a lead and constantly goes for the last minute comeback. Not going to happen against elite teams.

Let's just say I'm a tad worried about this team... but going to try to enjoy this win.

Kind of a boring first 2 periods, but damn, Jokinen had so much speed tonight, I thought he was the best player on the ice.
Amazing save by Kipper at the end of the game.
Glad we won!

To make a good night even better: the Rangers beat the Canucks 4-0, and the Penguins beat the Wild 4-2.

Also, Jokinen has been playing exceptionally. My favourite Flame by a mile today. Kipper showed how he became our wins leader.

58 minutes of complete and utter crap. How the hell did we manage to come out on top? **** it, who cares. I love winning games we don't deserve to win.

Wow. Maybe they should worry more about their own team, and less about ours?

Good game Calgary, Kipper showed why he's the Flames' win leader. I'd have to agree that Jokinen was playing like a #1 C tonight, and besides him, i'd give props to Hannan (Winning lots of D-zone puck battles) and Stempniak. See you next time.

'We're not going to beat good teams playing like that' or other crap that ignores the awesomeness of two quick goals in the third for the win.

Nobody can deny it was a **** game for pretty much all of it, only curmudgeons like DHF wouldn't be happy with the win.

It wasn't a great game, but there was moments of sustained pressure where Calgary was looking alright. It wasn't a complete game by any means, but they played more than 2 minutes imo.

I don't agree with the notion that the Flames only played 2 mins of hockey. They played relatively well defensively and looked better structured than their previous games, but looked slow offensively and only wanted to dump the puck. They cycled the puck too often without generating any shots and they spent a lot of time chasing and fighting for the puck after the dump.

I thought they gave a relatively consistent effort, but looked unorganized offensively.

It's times like this where I am actually wondering if fans in Vancouver are saying "Louuuuuuuuu" or "booooooo"...
