Of course Kostitsyn doesn't get any love, he's (bela)russian.

He's without a doubt one of our best player so far this season.

Ahh I'm not a fan of his (I was, when he was first breaking into the league though) but tonight he was good! He should play on a line with Pacioretty for the rest of the season!

Somebody in the GDT mentioned JM should try a line of Kostitsyn - Eller - Pacioretty and I think that would be a sick, sick line! Skilled and big! Hmmm...

That little pass to Pacioretty that sent Max in one on one with Miller... great vision. A lot of good hits tonight, too.

It was great seeing him bulldozing through that Buffalo player on Diaz's goal. Brute strength right there and it gave Pacioretty enough space and time to feed Diaz on the other side.

He might never be an elite player, but Kostitsyn has gotten so much better in the last two years, he's now a much more complete player and his compete level has improved leaps and bounds.

Yes I have noticed the same thing.
When he plays with younger players he gets to carry the puck more.
When he plays with Plek or other players that are better than him,
he can dissapear a bit.

I think he thrives on having more responsibilities on this line.
As well in terms of line matching, he is away from the ooponents better checkers.
Playing with Plek means playing against top lines.

Lately he's been a better all around player offensively I find. Playing with younger players seems to almost inspire him to be more creative with the puck. I'm one of the few who actually likes what he's seen of Kosty this year.

AK is partially to blame on the winning goal. If you listen the "experts" on L'Antichambre, PK is partially to blame for being in the corner, DD is partially to blame for taking the faceoff with his team's bad positioning, the coaching is partially to blame for not correcting their positioning, Gorges is partially to blame for being the vet and not telling PK to get to the front of the net. Incredibly, they don't blame AK at all.

I thought AK was a beast out there tonight and has become the best passer on the team. Yes, he plays better with the likes of Eller and DD. Nobody plays well with Gomez and, in my opinion and others that are closer to the team, Plek and AK aren't the best of friends and Plek is very condescending towards AK. I've even noticed it in media scrums with Plek bashing AK.

Keep DD (or bring in Eller) with AK and MaxPac for at least 20 games, even if they go through a two game slump. Let Plek play with Cole (Plek was openly critical of not playing with Cole for the start of the first game) and let Cammy join the big bucks players Gionta and Gomez. At almost 20M between the three of them, maybe they'll produce together.

Should be 4. Desharnais got an assist in the Colorado game on Pacioretty's goal, but Desharnais never touched the puck, it was Andrei who passed to Diaz who took a shot on net which Pacioretty buried after.

I noticed that too. I thought they reviewed every goal to make sure they got the assists right.

Using that philosophy, a gm would also be looking at trading Pleks and Price. Why keep good players around when you can trade them for prospects?

There are a few rules on HF...

1.Never to early to think the sky is failling
2 When the following do something good
A. Kostitsyn
B. Gauthier
C. Martin

Ignore it and act like nothing happened.

It's not the same. Plek and Price get a free pass for a bad shift or a bad game. AK does not. Eventually (soon probably), AK will screw up, have a bad shift, make a bad pass or have a bad game and he'll be back in JM's doghouse. It's inevitable. JM will doodle, point to the middle of the bench and leave AK there for a period or two. Next game, AK wil be on the 4th line or, worse yet, will line up with Gomez. AK will pout, JM will ignore him and AK will play like crap for 8 games with 11 minutes a game and no PP.

Ak has been our best player imo, along with maxpac.
I dont think it is a coincidence that they are on the third line playing versus weaker opponents, but still, they have been amazing.

Those players aren't UFA at the end of the year and are players you want to go forward with. Habs need to make that decision with Kostitsyn, if they think they are going to sign him and bring him back then move him

Good on Max. In an interview the other day Patch said he talks to Andrei a lot ,which has probably never happened to Andrei on this team yet. Patches may be just what Andrei needs, someone who talks and listens to him. Got to admit Max is a special kid. He seems to always be helping others. Didn't he get all his friends drafted by Montreal or at least invites to camp on tryouts. Inviting old school friends to workout with him and special trainers....... Gotta love the "help others" thing about him. Hopefully Martin keeps Andrei with him.

I believe it deserves its own thread.

Also, **** Pierre Houde for never mentioning Kostitsyn nice passes or nice plays. I respect more and more Denis for praising AK sometimes.

hes been like this since the last half of last season. either he finally got it through his thick skull that he needs to work hard EVERY shift if he wants to play and suceed in montreal, or he's working extra hard because it's a contract year.

im going with the former myself and i think martin's demanding work ethics are getting through to him. proof is while he's been bounced from lines a couple of times, it never was as a punishment, rather an attempt to get lines not his own going.

still, watching him shrugs hits like it's nothing makes me giggles like a schoolgirl

Can we come up with a nickname for this line before Martin breaks it up?
