It's called a Game Day Thread for a reason. It's not game day yet.

We're doomed!!!!!

He's made the last three the day before the game with no problems.

But, for the fun of it:

Now we're doomed.

Brian Elliott gets the start tomorrow, per Andy Strickland.

In 8 GP against the Canes, Elliott is 4-3 with a .902 SV% and a 2.65 GAA.

Ward gets the start tomorrow and possibly Saturday, per Chip.

In 5 GP against the Blues, Ward is 4-1 with a .942 SV% and a 1.58 GAA.

I'll admit, I can't really dislike the blues.

The first hockey I ever was exposed to was a Blues game I some how picked up on AM radio at like midnight when I was about 12 - so 1995 or so.

I know it's early, but I'm surprised to see the Blues struggling, particularly on special teams. Judging by their shots against average, they play a very stingy defensive game, so I wouldn't expect much scoring in this one.

Nice article about the Stewart brothers in the Blues GDT. Nothing earth shattering, but a good read none the less.

Blues have no clues of the impending storm. Canes win 3-2. Kabs, Stewart score and Staal hammers in an empty netter.

Blues win 3-1. Oshie and Backes with 2. Ruutu with a late goal to break up the shutout.

4-2 Canes. Skinner scores twice, McBain and Dwyer once. Blues' goals by Berglund and Arnott.

I dunno...I could definitely see the Hurricanes doing that. But an opponent?

Just threw that out as the only reasonable possibility given what he wrote (as you said, nobody pulls a goalie in a tie game). Not saying it is likely.

How are we going to win this game, considering the wussy, pansy players we have? Our own bench is ashamed of Gleason, he never fights and is soft. Ward < Rask.

We have no chance.

It's not a question of if they will win. Of course they can win playing like this. The real question is how any of you fans can root for a team that plays like this. I'd rather go 0-82-0 than root for a team that plays like this. It's not real hockey and you're not a real fan.

Hurricanes win 1-0

Cam Ward in a shootout scores the only goal.
