Ruutu-Richards-Brown
Penner-Stoll-Richardson
Clifford-Lewis-Moreau/Hunter

Kings would offer one of their defensive prospects and maybe Moller or something like that. What would the Canes want from the Kings?

Agree. The Canucks especially need this type guy.

Salary cap says hi. At this point the Kings couldn't acquire the $3.8 mil cap hit unless they moved some salary themselves.

Not to mention, Carolina dumping $3.8 mil would put them under the floor unless they take salary back.

Yup, the cap is why I mentioned having to trade Penner

Exactly, If he is available, I'd expect Gillis to be on this one like a hobo/Penner on a ham sandwich.

If Ruutu is on the block, then I'd like to think the Bruins would be interested.

Spooner + 2012 2nd + Kelly

That was then, this is now. We now have kids who have matured into better players and understand how to make those around them better as well as be able ot change their style to fit another. All three of sharp, toews, and kane are versatile enough to play with Ruutu, so it would seem like a win/win for chi.

Not now. Definitely not at that cap hit. Ruutu is a good player, but it that cap hit would put us right at the cap and limit the teams options later in the season. The only way this helps is if the Canes take Olesz (pretty much impossible) or if Stanbow can convince Rocky to pay Olesz to play in the AHL.

I think him and the avs are a great fit. Personal opinion, as he would fit nicely with the three centers.

He is one of my favourite players so I would love to have him on the Avs. We currently have Kobasew playing with Stastny so Ruutu would be a great addition.

What would go the other way though? Would the Canes be interested in Galiardi?

It would depend on the cost. If it's a draft pick and a prospect not named Morin, Saad or Olsen, I'd like Tuomo back were he started. The cap wouldn't be an issue if the trade were done mid-season or around the TDL as the Hawks have around $3.5M in cap space - or if mgmt bites the bullet and buries Olesz' $3.1M in the AHL. Acquiring Ruutu to play top-6 LW would pretty much complete the top-6. I'd take my chances with this lineup:

Ruutu-Toews-Brunette (until Morin is ready later in the season)
Sharp-Kane-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-Frolik
Carcillo-Kruger-Stalberg/Mayers

I think Galiardi would be the one they would be interested in as you guys were reporting that TJ has fallen off of sacco's favour. Definitely would help Stastny if he jumps and injects some grit into that line.

I would want him too but I don't think we are willing to pay the price.

Canucks offer sturm + 2012 1st. Pick will be mid 20s which seems more than fair, and the player swap saves the canes a bit over 2mil without taking added years.

Canucks would still fit under with raymond on ltir. Would have to reassign 3 of their 26 current roster players once he gets healthy. We could really use his physicality in our top 6. Not to mention the skill, speed and versatility he would bring with it. Defensive coverage leaves a bit to be desired but we have plenty of defensive skilled players already, and no skilled big hitters.

prospects and picks? that sounds like a Burke type of deal for a top 6 winger we've been coveting. I'd be a pig in **** if we landed him.

You gotta have at least some salary going back otherwise the canes will fall below the floor. And no, they aren't interested in komisarek.

I'd love to see him play for Avs but I don't think we could offer anything that makes sense for both teams.
