If we can get away from having Lundqvist carry the team on so many nights I think that not only will that help the team, but it will make Lundqvist more rested come playoff time. WE need to get our offense going like the 3rd period a lot more often and we need to take a lot less penalties.
agreed...u want henrik to be henrik only like maybe 10 times a season...where he stands on his head and single handedly wins you a game. problem is he usually has to do that like 20-25 times a season...which is ridiculous.

If they would stop taking so many damn penalties then they would be able to get into a better flow and would depend less on Henrik. However it is also important to remember that this is one of those games where you expect to depend on him because of the dangerous team they are facing.

Either way, that's just nit-picking. Yeah, this was a HUGE win, really should boost the team's confidence.

Can't believe we've shutout arguably the best regular season team in the league 2 years in a row.
bluejackets only have ONE win in regulation since feb 25th of last year...3-18-8 since then with 2 wins in OT

Wow, Hank really took "standing on his head" to another level last night. Outstanding goaltender performance.

Our best player was a 7th rounder, our best dman currently wasn't even drafted.

Ugh...didn't montreal draft McDonaugh?... I know girardi was good tonight and all but McD was definitely better tonight.

Went to bed after the first. Glad to see us get the win and finally some secondary scoring. Hopefully this wakes them up, although I'm still not very hopeful.

A confidence booster for sure. I like the post game comments. Along with awe for Henke they all were cautious and pointed to all the work they need to do to get better.

You just have to love how they scored those goals though. the defense joining the attack... Nice passing...breaking out of the zone.... Lots to be positive about.

He means our best d-man was undrafted in Girardi.

And our best player was a 7th rounder in Hank.

Wasn't that awesome? Mickey D was great! I actually think he might be a better fit with Girardi than Staal is. One a stay at home, and one joining the rush.

Hank was at his absolute best last night. Just a thing of beauty to watch. They had 8 PPs and he still got the shutout.

How big was Rupp's goal? Told ya,.. you guys are gonna love him. He could do alot more than drop the gloves. Did Colton Orr or Hollyweg ever have a game winning goal?

yep I really liked the Rupp signing. When I looked at the FA list he was a guy I had in mind that would work well on this team.

Newbury is a good trooper and I don't mind him as a filler but for a more balanced team I would rather see Wolski come back healthy to the top line and have Hagelin, Stepan, Rupp

It just seems EC, Zuke and likely Wolski don't fit what Torts is trying to do. I am giving WW a shot. Hope the teares it up

Did EC play? What's the point of dressing him?

Thank god for Hank. He undoubtedly won us that game.

Aside from Hank playing so well, it seemed that there was a weight lifted off of everyone's shoulders when Rupp potted the first goal. After that point, everyone seemed to pick up their game. The passing was crisper, the transitions were far more fluid, there was less dump and chase and more clean entries into the offensive zone. Hopefully this game broke the dam and we're going to finally see this team kick it up a gear or two.

Yes, I know that, which is why i posted that girardi had a good game, but McD was just that much better tonight, which was what the montreal drafting part was about.

Well, McD played better IMO at least.

Maybe Hanks best game ever. I was/am in awe. Just a totally unbelievable performance. If I didn't watch the game there's no way I would have understood how flat out dominating he was.
