Didn't Philly just lose 2 d-men? That could work in our favor considering they haven't had consistent goaltending. Boston lost Rask as well so an overworked Thomas could help us also. Those are 2 games we could surprise people and win.

Philly, Carolina and Toronto

We always seem to play a good game against Philly, I hope it's our turn to win this time

My Predictions:

Next 5

THU 3/8 @ PHI - Could go either way, but I'm leaning more towards a loss than a win. That shutout tonight probably didn't hurt them.

FRI 3/9 @ PIT - I almost see no way how we'd win this game on the second of back-to-backs. They're 8-2 in their last 10, so ouch.

SUN 3/11 CAR - I likely see a win here. We've done rather well against them this season. I won't be around to watch it, so they'll most likely win then.

TUE 3/13 TOR - Easily a win. We OWN Toronto.

THU 3/15 BOS - Similar to the Philly game. Could go either way, but maybe a win here. The Bruins are about as good away as they are at home.

We've played Philly close this year, I expect a strong game there. As well Boston, other than that 8-0 shalacking where we were missing 7 out of 12 forwards we can play with those boys too. Right now we are a playoff team, so we should expect to play with the other playoff combatints.

All right... getting down to the nitty gritty now...

Back to last year's NYR:

Set #1 Record: 2-2-1 (5 points)
Set #2 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #3 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #4 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #5 Record: 4-1-0 (8 points)
Set #6 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #7 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #8 Record: 2-1-2 (6 points)
Set #9 Record: 4-1-0 (8 points)
Set #10 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #11 Record: 1-3-1 (3 points)
Set #12 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #13 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)

Set #14 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #15 Record: 4-0-1 (9 points)
Set #16 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #17 Record: 1-1-0 (2 points)

The Rangers had a total of 70 points, the Panthers have 74! So we're still on a great pace. The thing to note is the Rangers had a huge set at #15 and took home 9 points. We'll need to remain consistent in order to keep pace with the Rangers.

The next set of games looks tough, but maybe they can actually pull it together?

Great post. Could u throw this up after each set?

It defines exactly what this thread is for.

Its why coaches in many sports break up things into manageable battles.

Weve become streaky lately, as the graph shows, so really great time to keep eye on ball. We lost 2 in a row, but i felt if we beat ottawa then bingo, all is good.

Like CW said, would love a 8-9 pointer, i dont see it this one but perhaps next one. Regardless, if we do 6 in5 for the remainder 4, and 2 in 2 on the remainder, thats 94 points!!!

What an ugly loss...dejavu... Come out flying with nothing to show and then unravel.

Time to win three in a row.

Disappointing...

But here's how we can make up ground:

FRI 3/9 @ PIT - If they can dig deep, they can at least try to stretch this to OT.

SUN 3/11 CAR - Back at home, rested? Should win this one. Carolina is trying to play spoiler, but we can't let them do that to us. Big W here.

TUE 3/13 TOR - Gotta win. They are a wounded animal.

THU 3/15 BOS - This one could be interesting with Rask out. They could easily sit Thomas for this game, and we'd face their backup (be it Turco or someone else). Perhaps pull out a win?

So in my optimistic world, they could still get 7 points here.

As impossible as it may seem I would not be shocked if the Panthers won or at least got to overtime tonight. Will it happen, not saying it will but it certainly would fit this teams M.O. I expect the boys to beat both Carolina and Toronto at home. There really isn't an excuse to lose to either of those teams at home if you want to be a playoff team. That takes us to the game against "that team" down the road from me. I would love to have a freak offensive explosion in comparison to the beat down they layed on our "AHL" group put on them. This would be great humble pie for Jack Edwards and all the loud mouth, front running, bandwagon, entitled Bruins fans. Turco is horrible and I really hope they play him against the Panthers. I really want that game for many, many reasons.

I dont think the minus 7 in vs goals in this set is true

-5 vs Philly
-1 vs Pens...depends if the SO point counts. Otherwise zerp
+2 vs Carolina

-3 respectively -4

We were -4 before the set and

We need 6 points in the set so

We start this set at -10.

We've earned 3 points so far.

We're at -7.

No reason for an OTL against BOS right now.. No goalie is good right now..
Turco 3 goals on 6 shots..
Thomas 2 goals on 5 shots
and Turco the last one on XX shots

And Thomas wasnt good in March! We have a very good chance at beating him! And if we win, the 4th would have to come against Buffalo..Well 4 in a row is not possible for this team
