That was a tough loss. Our team has some people with great experience and I think they will learn from this and move on. We'll be right back on track with a win against Buffalo.
Look at the positives, we saw some great chemistry starting to form on the top line last night. Kulikov is also starting to show he's got some real play making skill.
I think they come out strong against Buffalo with a decisive victory.

A win against a tough bufahole would make us 2 down and fourteen 5 game sets to go!!!!
So... I'm eating my lunch and decided to break down a team from last season and see how their 5 game sets broke down.
I've chosen the NY Rangers since they finished 8th with 93 points and figured that might mirror what we need this year...
Set #1 Record: 2-2-1 (5 points)
Set #2 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #3 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #4 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #5 Record: 4-1-0 (8 points)
Set #6 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #7 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #8 Record: 2-1-2 (6 points)
Set #9 Record: 4-1-0 (8 points)
Set #10 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #11 Record: 1-3-1 (3 points)
Set #12 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #13 Record: 2-3-0 (4 points)
Set #14 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #15 Record: 4-0-1 (9 points)
Set #16 Record: 3-2-0 (6 points)
Set #17 Record: 1-1-0 (2 points)
It averages out to be 5.5 points per set. (Well 5.4709etc....) A little skewed since the last set is only 2 games. But yeah, interesting how it supports the theory.
Be interesting to see how we match up against something like through the season.

Great job!!!!
3 times 8 or more, 4 times 4 or less, 9 times in that 5-7 range
Moreover 6 points was the mode, hitting it on the button 7 times almost half the time.
Very doable with this team, with Markstrom.
Must stay away from the 2 or three point sets. A 5 game winning streak worth its weight in gold.

Historically, the Panthers teams that have made the playoffs were able to put together 3+ win streaks throughout the season. The last 10 years, not so much, obviously. I think it's paramount myself, and to do it earlier rather than later would be huge.

Theodore gives this team best chance to win. Don't get carried away. It'll take more than 2 great games to convince me he's ready. I hope they send him down like Boston did with Rask. Send him down confident and knowing his time to be a number one in the NHL is coming very soon. I wouldn't mind him staying up tho doing a 1a-1b with Theodore slightly getting more starts. Clemmenson should prob find a real estate agent to sell his house in Florida. Lol.

Panthers are too inconsistent to pull that off. 93 points should clinch a playoff berth.
I think the "inconsistency" has more to do with all of the new players than it does they're lack of ability. Samuelsson coming back, someone who shouldn't be playing sitting (not sure who that is just yet) will help. As the season goes on, many of the early mistakes should disappear, or at least come to a minimum.

I'm fine with his being sent down, but he's looked good in every game, not just 2.

what I'm liking is that we're getting 3 home games, this is essential, we need to make the BAC a fortress..if we go 2-0-1 home and then 1-0-1 on the road I'd be more than ecstatic
Potvin was on OFP and his first comment was "this is a very very well coached team" ...unprompted.
Finally, we are in good hands.
Dude!
Did you see the Dineen postgame? Isn't it nice to have a guy who looks more than just fairly intelligent??
Good call. What are you dressing up as Monday?
I wanted to be the helga fat bavarian costume with the fake boob drink taps...sneak alcohol into the Panthers game easily.
never thought wed hit our 6 on this 5 game set. im very happy. next set looks tough other than the two against the paper airplanes.
as for marky mark, i think he should be sent down. i really think its in his best lt interest. hell play more and i think have a chance to work on his rebound control which he needs badly.
I believe this is the best 10 game start we've had since the '96-'97 season? Awesomely great to see. As for the next 5 games, I think both Winnipeg games and the Lightning game are all certainly winnable. I can't see winning the game against the Hawks that easily and I almost have no hope in beating the Leafs as they are off to an amazing start. Stranger things have happened though as with the win tonight.
We play to win every single game. I see us having a even chance against Chicago as we do against the Jets. The Leafs are playing well too but we proved tonight we can play a strong defensive game.
Oh, and I know it's really early, but we're 2 points out of the Southeast division lead and the Caps only have one game in hand on us. Let's hope they keep tanking it out west.

Agreed, play to win every game. More important than the opponent here, win out on the homestand and you have a 4 game win streak. That would be huge.
