I think the "inconsistency" has more to do with all of the new players than it does they're lack of ability. Samuelsson coming back, someone who shouldn't be playing sitting (not sure who that is just yet) will help. As the season goes on, many of the early mistakes should disappear, or at least come to a minimum.
I'm fine with his being sent down, but he's looked good in every game, not just 2.
Honestly man, I don't want him sent down. He's so much better then clemmenson. It's just his development I'm worried about. There's always a chance he steals full reign of the starting job over Theodore.
I think Theodore played well. Also leaves huge rebounds ironically.
I would now rotate them until someone is stellar again.
What a fun situation to be in.
Wow, what a finish. I was working at the Leafs game last night and when I kept seeing the score as 2-1 in the 3rd period I thought our six points were lost. I was shocked when I looked up again and saw 3-2 final!!
To circle back to my post about the 2010-11 NY Rangers, they finished October with 11 points (first two six game sets). Their games were 50/50 home/road. Three losses came at home in that stretch.
I like that we're getting points in wins, and on the road. Road wins are so much harder to come by...
Their record right now makes me very optimistic, and aside from the Sens game, I'm really happy with the season so far. When was the last time I said that at the end of October?!
So Cats are currently sitting 6th in the East... one more game left in October!
As far as the next set... I only really care about one game- Toronto. Please for the love of all things sugary beat the Leafs!!!!!!!!!

Another point tonight puts us at 2. Gotta win 2 of the next 3 against the Bolts, Leafs and Jets. Very doable.
Agreed. tying these games are huge. Win the bolts game, for a respectable homestand, then split those 2 road games.
The identity of the Panthers so far are we never out of a game. 2-0 deficits are not obstacles. Love to see us tighten up the d, be less soft in our zone.
We really have to start hitting out there and not be so passive collapsing in our own end when oppotent has the puck.
You can nit pick about other things about this team, but if our defense was more up to par with our offense, we would be one of the top teams in the East. Our defense is our MAIN problem right now, and I dont know what needs to be done to fix it. I think the personnel is fine, but its obvious that the effort is not there for a good majority of games. Teams enter our zone easily time and time again, and we arent as physical as we should be, considering we have the personnel to be physical in our own end. Its just mind boggling that will less skilled players, we were better last season defensively. Again, maybe its Dineen's up tempo offense that might not be working well with Gord's defensive scheme, but something needs to be done. We arent that gifted offensively where we can be this passive on defense.
Ill take the OTL points but we are 6-7. Jose looked shaky every game except for the SO. Now we send down our best option at goalie. Im not happy.
I hate when people say this every year.
We're not 6-7; we're 6-4-3.
In terms of winning and losing, we're 6-7. But that's such an irrelevant thing to say because that's not how hockey works. Since the Florida Panthers are a hockey team, we are 6-4-3. This debate comes up every year.
Hockey is about points. One point might send you home unhappy but at the end of the day, it's still one point.
That year we lost out on a tiebreaker, an extra OT loss would've gotten us into the playoffs that year.
As much as the OT losses suck, the most painful loss this year (imo) was tieing it in Ottawa only to let Ottawa score in the final seconds and come away with no points in that game. At least the other games were shootout losses which can go either way, really.
At the end of the day, 15 points (6-4-3) does not = 12 points (6-7). We're 6-4-3.
Also, I don't see how Theodore's looked "shaky" but I guess that's just a matter of opinion.
