Karlsson, ****. Well, at least he is the only Henrik in the net tonight.

Hopefully someone will nail Erixon...

Why are people getting so down on Karlsson? He had one shaky game in the opener, he was pretty solid all of last season for us. With that said, I'm predicting a Flames loss (lol @ Flames666) as I did in the "6 game home stand" thread. The Rangers are a really good team who started off the season rough and this is going to be a really tough matchup. However I think it is going to be a very close, tight checking game.

And someone please destroy Erixon, I hope Sarich obliterates that little puke who won't stand up for his teammates. I really hope the Boo birds are out all night for him!

GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!

Because he's not Kiprusoff. We have four points and the biggest reason for those points is Kipper. The flexible save against Lander saved Flames's bacon in Battle of Alberta and against Canadiens Kipper was phenomenal too. Karlsson just can't do that and I want to see wins as much as possible.

Of course I hope that Karlsson will play good game, but will it be enough?

Not arguing with you, but its this thinking that has Kipper play in pretty much all of our games. They want to give Karlsson the start to build up his confidence and early on in the season. The Flames have stated that they do not want Kipper to play in as many games this year, he can't play in them all, the move is understandable.

Basically the same reasoning for us playing Biron today. As you guys saw against the Canucks, Lundqvist is red hot.

At least, I think we're playing Biron. Torts said he's playing "basically the same lines" as against Vancouver, but only Biron was on the ice for the optional skate, so I'm not totally sure. Henke's played the first four for us, so it's about time Biron gets a start anyway.

Watch Erixon lay out Iggy and take him out for the season. Oh man I think HF and CP.com would explode. I don't really care about Erixon.. he didn't want to be here.. whatever... bye bye.

Karlsson is starting? A bit of a head scratcher there. I'm a huge CT fan and want him to start in more games, but you gotta let Kipper get in his groove. Knowing Biron is starting too must have played a factor. Should be a high scoring affair.

We need to start Karlsson is games like this, every 4th game or so.

Can't make excuses to start Kiprusoff. If he's hot and we say "play him because he's hot" HK might never get a game in. And then when Kipper starts losing a bunch we won't want to play HK because we'll want to make up ground.

Give Kiprusoff consistent amounts of rests and hope he gives consistent kickass games in return.

I'm having way to much fun with this Tim Erixon thing. Players should screw us over more often. It's fun to hate.

Looks like it'll be Lundqvist for us: http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=3360

Henrik Lundqvist should get the start for the Rangers. He turned aside all 40 shots he faced in a 4-0 shutout of the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Sutter had said during an interview that they made a starting schedule before the season and they're going to stick to that schedule.

He should have made a schedule so Hank played against weaker opponents. Don't agree with Sutter at all lately.

I doubt Erixon will get burned that badly tonight as his minutes are fairly sheltered. He'll probably be pretty invisible on the ice

Coaching wise, Erixon is the last thing the Flames should worry about

Please keep in mind that wishing injury/illness on a player is against the rules. I can certainly see why you have a strong dislike for Erixon, but that doesn't excuse some of the things that were said here. You're free to hate whoever you want, but do it without the offensive remarks.

Thanks.

I predict a 4-4 game goes to shootout and Flames win. Mainly to see if Karlsson pulls his shootout save celebration.

Flames scorers:
Iginla
Jokinen
Glencross with 2

Rangers scorers:
Gaborik
Dubinsky
Fedontanko
Eminger

I think we will see Morrison on the top line tonight. You don't take a guy just coming off an injury, an older guy, and just throw him on the top line. Let him get his legs back. He looked pretty good out there, so expect to see him with Tangz and Iggy tonight. Sutter knows Moss isn't performing and can't win any FO's.

Lundqvist is in net for the Rangers tonight, and on that note putting Karlsson in net is probably the dumbest move by Sutter this year.

This. Absolutely no reason for Kipper to play more than 60-65 games this season.

So they finally start sticking to their guns and play the backup and people are upset? If HK didn't give us a chance to win most nights he wouldn't be on the team.

This. He showed everyone last year that he can win a few games, and he can do a darn good job.

Don't think there's a perfect solution to playing a backup (minus having a clone of Kipper) but I do think this is probably the lesser or the two evils.

Loving the Erixon hate. Quite enjoyable to read, and looking forward to this game just for that factor.

Seriously though...Moss should just sit out the first 10 shifts.
Looking to see a Rangers win unfortunately, 4-1 but the Flames having a good game; just stymied by the "Other Henrik".

I hope Erixon suffers from a mild bout of constipation.
