Torts on Wolski

From Brooks Twitter:

Tortorella, asked about Wolski: "We can't get him out of the tub." For his groin? "I guess so." $3.8M cap hit. Hmmm.

What creature is concealing themself under the water in the tub? Hey, if the guy is hurt he needs the time necessary to come back. WTF is this?!!??

Is Brooks suggesting a move might be made involving Wolski?
Because that's the only thing I can decifer from his "hmmmm" comment

It's a groin issue. Those things don't necessarily go away quickly.

Sam and Joe said Wolski was skating hard and is getting close to coming back. How is it he can't get out of the tub today?

That was all that he tweeted but I think the "hmmm" was probably in reference to Wolski's cap hit, pre-season reports about "work ethic" change and knowing Brooks probably a shot at Torts for the Avery waive..IMHO.

Why mention his cap hit? Or Tort's cryptic "I guess so"?
Seems very suspect to me, like it's more than just a groin issue. He skated yesterday.

Either that or Brooks is trying to throw a jab at the rangers for keeping Wolski over Avery in the lineup.

The OP's text did not mention the cap hit within the quotes from Torts so I'm not sure Torts said that... Can't think of any reason why he would have mentioned a player's cap hit to a member of the media under these circumstances...

If Wolski is not healthy enough to play for the Rangers I doubt another team is going to trade for his services with his health and status in question.

I think it's pretty obvious at this point that Wolski is not going to be here long. Whether or not we find anyone to take him is one thing, but regardless he's gone at the end of the season.

Torts has already made his mind up on Wojtek.

Nobody noticed that when he put him next to Richy and Gabby for one pre-season game and then decided he was done with that?

Where is Wolski playing on this team? Torts has no use for players like him with talent who bring nothing else to the table.

Torts can't even stand Gabby. He's just more tolerable of him because Gabby has 40 goal potential.

Some of you are looking to deep into this.

He is still out injured, that is all.

I don't know about that...can only go on what Brooks quoted but sounds like the coach is exasperated...

Well it does show a total lack of respect for the player on Tortorella's part. I read it as mostly referring to the injury, but also building on the perception that Wolski is a lazy dog...a perception hes done nothing to change here.

I was talking about brook's tweet that mentioned the cap hit

Is he hurt? Torts seems confused (I guess so), not his style, and it was reported he skated hard yesterday.

YEAH TORTS IS A CLOWN FOR NOT HAVING FAITH IN THE GUY WHO ****ING BLEW LAST YEAR!!!

****ing torts, not playing scrubs.

Let's see W2 do something before we defend him. So far he hasn't done ANYTHING here.

The guy hasn't even played a regular season game yet because he's injured and of course the Anti-Torts brigade is out in full force. Pathetic.

Yeah torts hates Anisimov. I guess that's why he starts him all the time, plays him in all situations and plays him with two of our best players.

Talk about clown comments...

Wolski sure is everything torts hates - which is laziness and tendency to not live up to potential

Pretty sure the only thing Torts cares about besides skill is heart and W2 hasn't shown any.

2 other teams gave up on Wolski before he came here. There's probably a reason for that and it wasn't Torts' personal vendetta.

No.

I would say that Tort's is expressing frustration. Remains to seen, but I think we're getting an indication as to how Tort's feels about this particular player. He would have phrased it differently had he not meant to make a point.

This is not about vendettas. The Rangers/Torts does not have time for that. Especially w/all the injuries. Torts is just trying to get his team set. Who he can use or not.

Oh yeah, because Torts has shown so much faith in Erik Christensen....

The difference is Christensen fit in a role with Gaborik because they played well together. Wolski doesn't seem to play well anywhere....
