i posted this over on GDT but think it belongs here

ok first we turn on the team then we turn on each other??

Is it just my imagination or does losing bring out a group turrets reaction from the HFBoards Jets fans?

we sucked tonight.....we had a couple of solid games (minus 5 minutes) then we laid a big fat egg. I am not thrilled with it either but it seems like we are treating every loss like it is the elimination game from the playoffs and our season is done.

anger management classes being tomorrow morning at 6:00 am sharp

It doesn't matter which team you cheer for when they lose because every board is like that when they lose. Well, Canadian teams at least.

Burmi, once again our best forward. Should have gotten his jersey

Well said. I for one am very very tired of this, we all want to support the Jets here. I know many people disagree, but we are all trying to cheer for the team as we see best.

I said my piece about the future of the franchise, and not just in reaction to this game, in the other threads active right now.

Also, I am now 0-2 being out scored 9-2 in GDT's. Should I be banned from making GDT's???

If Oduya was awarded an assist on every pass up the middle he's made that has immediately turned into an opposition goal, would he be the team's leading scorer?

Not if you count the opportunities created by Buff's up ice play as assists for him. He'd be second though!

They need to bring a specialist to coach the team on face-offs. Like a mysterious old man from Japan.

It would be nice to be a little better in the circle but we were just barely under 50% on a road game.
If Slater would have been in and Glass wouldn't have had to take so many we would have been over 50%.

I really hope our forward lines get going.
Once the team can depend on them to score perhaps the defense won't feel the need to take so many chances. If we had lost 4-3 I would be more critical of the defense but we can't only get one goal and blame the loss on the defense.

That's a good point. Byfuglein could be pinching so much because he doesn't think we can score if he doesn't. If our offense was rolling Buf and other D might be more prone to staying back.

No, that's how Buff plays all the time, up 6-1 or down 6-1.

Well, it's already been reported he has had private talks with the teams leaders before etc.

It's not uncommon for a coach to leave a dressing room without saying anything after a really bad game.

My word...PATIENCE people!!

Good grief. It's been 6 games and people want to fire everyone on our team already-including Noel.

There was a good point made in the call in show about Noel being a teaching coach. It's absolutely ludicrous to suggest we get rid of Noel after 6 games. We need to give him at least 2 full seasons before we can say he has been a failure. This team has had 3 coaching changes in 3 years, and what it needs is consistency there.

As for the players, it also has been 6 games. What Atlanta gave us was not very good, and another good point made on the post game call in show was that it's unlikely we'll see more then 25% of the players on this team still on this team come the end of the season. It's going to take a while to find out what we have and what we need. There is a lot of pressure on this team, and they are very young. We don't have a lot of veterans and we don't have a lot of superstars.

What we do have is a coach who sure as heck knows how to teach hockey players, and an ownership with deep pockets ready to dig into them to make the team successful. What we need from the fans is patience, it's not going to happen over night. This team may still yet contend for the playoffs, but what matters is that we improve.

Take a chill pill people, have some heart...AND GO JETS GO!!

Two full seasons?

I guess drafting Yakupov and McKinnon can't hurt

Patience is good but so is criticism of a hockey team playing very poorly right now, especially a team playing below its potential.

Does anyone have a list of UFA's for next July? We could start discussing who we should target.

Yeah guys...let's just step back from the ledge. It's been a godawful start, there's no beating around the bush. But guys like Ladd, Little and Kane, they don't just turn to lousy hockey players overnight. Even Enstrom and Pavelec (who I think have been excellent for the most part) still aren't quite up to par.

Things will get better.

Should I quote myself(I've already made several very long posts defending your position on this tonight)? These long posts are starting to wear me out, how about we put these 3 threads together in a FUTURE OF THE TEAM thread?

I'm trying to remember if Noel was still the assistant coach in Columbus when they were boasting the leagues worst PP a few years back.

That was pretty ugly. Not much to be made of this one. On to the next, I suppose.
