That's about the worst turnover I can ever remember Oshie making...and then he follows it up with a really nice play. He's had a really strong game today.
Blues finally playing with the physicality they're capable of...they're owning this game. Regardless of how the score plays out, they're (finally) playing some really good hockey this game...the type of hockey they should be capable of playing all year.
I disagree. They've looked sluggish for much of the game and are getting owned in their own zone. Time after time they have a chance to get the puck out and they don't. Elliott has played well, but the team lacks fire and urgency. They're ability to tie the game after being down 2-0 is definitely encouraging though to bust out of their funk.

Yeah he's looked good. But that pass was so boneheaded. It's not just him - Jackman, Steen, and a couple others have made a bad turnover/dangerous pass in the defensive zone and the team continues to struggle to clear the friggin puck out. I mean the overall effort has been there, the pressure on the forecheck has been consistent and they've had some great chances, but I can't help but still be kind of discouraged by the play in our own zone.
I am watching this game, and have to say the Blues are incredibly lucky to be tied after 2. I dont see how Oshie didnt get an assist for that 2nd goal and I think that was a slightly dirty play by Pitkanen that injured D'Agostini.

How can you put up 20 shots in a period and "look sluggish?"
Sure, there's been some missed moments in the defensive end...but that's just something you're going to have to get used to with this team. The Blues are dominating possession time, offensive zone time, shot differential, physicality, quality scoring chances, and pretty much anything else you could want besides the scoreboard. This has been their best effort of the season, IMO.

Steen and Oshie made (by far, IMO) the two worst turnovers for the Blues in this game, but that's definitely an exception to their normal play. Those two moments and the Berglund coverage gaffe aside, the Blues have played pretty well defensively in all three zones...especially given the open nature of the game.
It's unrealistic to expect games that are completely free of mistakes/turnovers. The Blues have had a decent number, but nothing compared to most of their games this season. Carolina has been much, much worse.

You said they were owning the game. I was just pointing out that for the first 20 to 25 minutes they didn't look good. They've looked much better the second half of the game.

The Blues weren't as good in the first as they were in the second, but I still thought they had a great deal of energy and carried the majority of the play in that period as well.
If that's not what you're seeing, then we'll just agree to disagree. I'm not interested in having a semantic argument with you.
I think this has been The Blues' best game, overall (with, perhaps, the Calgary game pretty close). They'd be winning this game 5 or 6 to 2 if not for Ward. i'm encouraged by their good play in all 3 periods, winning faceoffs, playingf better defence, good energy, and, especially, Elliott's great play.

I agree. This has been a great response to their last game. Hopefully they can get 2 points as a reward for their effort.
