wellwood on the top line

cant say that impresses me too much
but he hasnt been all that bad this year
and the top line hasnt done much all year and needs a change

so hope it all works out tonight

is ladd playing?
I read he may not play because of his busted up face.
but he was wearing a visor at the skate this morning.

I'm going to the Bombers game and my first Jets game tonight!!!

Maxwell in tonight? that would be good news. I'm getting tired of Stapleton and think Maxwell can add something to this team. I liked him in the preseason.

Interesting line combinations, I look forward to seeing them. Pairing Wheeler with the hot hand of Burmistrov and Antropov could get him going. Hopefully we see Ladd and Little pick it up, big opportunity there for Wellwood. I like the look of Kane centered by Maxwell with Scheifele moved to the wing. Glass, Slater and Thorburn, we know what we'll get.

Maybe Burmistrov and Antropov can help get Wheeler going??
Also, what are the chances of a Brian Boucher start tonight, I noticed Ward played last night in St. Louis (and lost)...maybe they'll rest him in Winnipeg, that would be nice...

"BOOOOOUUUCHEER!"

Methinks that Oduya/Jones pairing might make for some . . . interesting . . . moments.

Glad to see Maxwell in the lineup, so far Stapleton hasn't really done much for me. He's serviceable, but that's about it. Jones for Meech is a lateral move at best IMO, I didn't think Meech was that bad vs. Toronto and Ottawa.

Meh. With last change, Noel can match them vs. the Canes bottom 6. Now if either one of them show up on the PK or vs. the Canes top 6, then I'll be worried.

I'm kinda scared too.

Didn't want to start my own thread so I'll just deposit this here:

I don't fully blame Oduya for the pick resulting in a goal. We need a replay of it somewhere, but I remember all of the other players being a little too far forward and just exploding north as soon as Oduya got the puck. He was already starting to be pinched, and lets be honest his saucer pass was money. The problem is it was read early on and Alfredsson was already setting up shop.

I don't know though, I'll have to watch some replays.

I like the look of the lines except the Oduya/Jones pairing. Scary.

Win or lose I just hope Kane gets 17 plus minutes, it looks like he won't playing on the third line. I really want to see him one full game with top six minutes.

So much for Meech getting a home game... he was looking forward to that one.

Burmistrov is just so much fun to watch. I really wish Noel would put him back at C though. The more faceoffs he takes against Centers in the NHL the better he is going to get at it.

Are you guys of the opinion that Noel is going to turn him into a Winger long term? I think the kids better suited as a C where he can use his tremendous skating and vision.

Agreed, Im also glad that he's back. He has some speed and can make plays with the puck, he should fit in well with Kane and Mark.

Can't wait for 6pm! Kind of getting annoyed at all the people that think we're not going to support the team once we "realize" that it's mostly the same team from last year. I'm pretty sure we all knew that and we all know we're not guaranteed playoffs this year, but they still think we're going to abandon them. They're in for a surprise. Go Jets Go!

Odds on the bottom D pairing being nailed to the bench in the third anyone?

Illegal Curve: Game Day Preview - Hurricanes @ Jets

Illegal Curve: pdf Line-up card.

Should be another terrific game tonight. My first opportunity to enjoy the game from the stands.

Heading to the MTS Centre now. Gonna be on TSN Radio from 2-3 pm. Then going to Canes skate to get audio. Should have it on site prior to game time.

I like the fact that Johnny Oduya skated himself hard and said the right things.

I know it's only game 5 but I am slowly starting to lose patience with him. I wanted to give him a fresh start but after a while it's just lipstick on a pig. If we are into November and still talking about JO's free pizzas, I think we need to look at other options.

Only problem is I don't think TN will eat his salary in the minors, and I don't believe anyone will trade for him. We have to hope he can turn it around under Huddy.

Apparently Boosh is starting, so that is an advantage for sure, no Ward ups our chances. Going to first game right behind the Jets bench, would love a solid effort. Have to be real aware of the defensive turnovers vs Canes .
