10/22/11 - 7:00PM EDT - Buffalo vs Tampa Bay

ARENA: St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa, Florida
TV: SUN, MSG-B
RADIO: 970-AM
STREAMS:
  1. http://hockeynight2k.blogspot.com/20...l-today-2.html

GUY BOUCHER:
Quote:
  • "If we can cut out these penalties, even in half, we’ve got a whole new game. The entire dynamic changes. We’ve got to focus on the things we have to improve, but at the same time recognize what we’re doing right and what’s improving. If we don’t do that, we’re going to get lost in this process, and that’s not us. It's like we have been patching a leaking hole in the ceiling and suddenly another hole opened down there. So we go down there, and well, the previous one is leaking. We've got to make sure we patch solidly before we start moving onto other leaks. But we’re going to get through this. We’re fighters."
Quote:
  • "How do you eat an elephant? A bit at a time. If you look at an elephant, it's too big. And any big problem, you have to break it down."
STEVEN STAMKOS:
Quote:
  • "This was kind of a statement game (against the Isles) for ourselves, not for anyone else, just to prove that when we stick together and stay disciplined and stay to the structure, we give ourselves a chance to win against the best teams in the league. That was our team. There are still some things to work on, but that was as close as to where we were last year as we have been. If we play that game, we're giving ourselves a chance to win 100 percent of the time. We may not win, but we'll give ourselves a chance."

LET'S GO BOLTS!

Boucher would not say, but expect to see Mathieu Garon in net again Saturday against the Sabres. But take note, Garon is 1-7-0 against Buffalo with a 3.61 goals-against average and .878 save percentage.

This will be next year's opening video.

The actual shoot will be Guy Boucher eating an African elephant (no longer endangered!) and the entire sequence will be broken into 41 sequential videos, so you have to go to each game to actually see him eat the entire thing. (they already gave out sweaters, so how could they follow that up?) None of that time-lapse ****. No trickery. Guy Boucher was waiting on standby for an actual elephant to die of natural causes so he could eat the entire thing.

During the off-season, they promote it with a cliff hanger video where Guy Boucher is at his desk and ends up becoming fixated on a toy elephant that's probably just a little too big for his mouth. The video ends with an intense staring contest, and then suddenly cuts to black. No epilogue of him nodding or anything. I know they love to do those with hockey team commercials, but epilogues aren't INTENSE.

We also have a Native American inspired slogan, "Leave Nothing to Waste".

I look forward to hearing Eric Brewer blandly say "Leave nothing to waste, except the husks of our opponents."

The good: All but 2 Tampa skaters have atleast 1 point

The bad: Roloson is off to a very shaky start

The ugly: Marc-Andre Bergeron is the Tampa points leader

Also, I found this:
Quote:
—One of the signature features of Tampa Bay's $40 million renovations to its home arena has yet to be fired up as the Tesla coils — which are supposed to shoot out bolts of real lightning after the team scores a goal — has not been cleared for use by city officials.

"We appreciate the patience of our fans while we work in partnership with the City of Tampa on this signature element of our game presentation," Lightning CEO Tod Leiweke said in a statement. "Like our new West Entry, ticket office and renovated restaurant, these are still works in progress. We are excited to unveil all of these new elements, and we want to get them exactly right for the fans ... so we are taking the time to make sure we do."

Looks like it's not just up to the team when they can use them.

I'll be here tonight and I couldn't be more excited! Are there any good bars near the arena to have a drink beforehand?

If you see some talking funny wearing an old stamkos White jersey then feel free to say hello!

Blasphemy!

Perfect time to fire up the Tesla Coils. See if those dumbass Buffalo fans want to be quite as arrogant when there is fear of electrocution surrounding them.

Stop in at Hattricks across the street from the Forum. I would say Shots, but that's no longer there. Some good stuff down the road at Channelside. You make the trip across the pond just for the game or other reasons among the game?

Oh god, Sabres fans and Vanek. Last time I saw them in person they scored 7 goals. Just hope we can steal a point or at least play as well as last game.

We're on a big family holiday but i made sure we'd be coming to at least two games. I'll be at the Winnipeg game too.

I'll be sure to check them out! Thanks.

I'm not actually sure just yet. We're in the inner bowl but I'm not certain which section as of yet. I'll try to update when we pick up the tickets.

Hey everyone, Rangers fan here. I know you're all confused by that thinking aren't we playing the Sabres tonight? But I am going to school in Florida, about a half hour or so from the Lightning so I'm going to go to the game tonight. I've never been to a Lightning game so just wondering to hear from you guys and the experience.

Also, how's the seating? Do you guys usually sell out or is it usually open? If there are open seats, are you able to move down?

Thanks, Go Bolts

Just in case you guys care our 3rd and 4th lines will most likely be:

Gerbe-Goose-Kaleta
McCormick-Boyes-Leino

That was how they played against Florida the other night, and reports out of morning skate are the lines will remain the same.
