Is this your lowest point as a CBJ fan?
I think that perhaps you should modify the poll options, because we have moved on from the start of the 2011-12 season under Arniel.

We can bump the thread with "How about now?" moments. Hopefully there aren't many more.

Wish you had been right about no more need for bumps.
WORST. CBJ SEASON. EVER.
Last place locked up by a long-shot and the team sleep-walking their way to the finish line. FORE!
Amazingly, I have gone this long with the same avatar from the start of the year. Thanks KidAcbj for making it, but I can't stomach using it anymore. I'm burying it in this post to wipe my hands clean of this 'annus horribilis' and start the curse removal process.
Clearly, I had loads of optimism when I chose the avatar with JPMac's seeming increased involvement in the Jackets this past off-season and the following statement:
“We needed to find our purpose and be clear on what our goal is as a franchise. It might be a little hard to say after years of losing that we’re in the business of trying to win the Stanley Cup, but that’s how I feel. We needed to verbalize that and keep that in front of us — always — as the goal.”
Blue Jackets' owner John P. McConnell (August, 2011)
Now this statement just seems like a joke. My optimism will likely bounce back at some point, but right now I feel like there is little hope for any improvement in the short term. Feeling like it's going to be more of the same, just without Nash.

Not going to lie...that sounds like a horribly painful and possibly smelly medical condition.
Probably the "lowest" moment will come when they get crushed in the "fantastic fan finale" next Saturday. But yes, I finally have to say this is the lowest point for me. There are just so many problems with this team and there is no competent person in charge. It really is sad to see the hopes of a decade ago crushed like this. The Year One team would destroy this team.

It really is a disaster top to bottom. Change needs to start at the top. Personally, I've boiled it down to this:
Priest and/or Howson remain = No season ticket renewal
Priest AND Howson removed = Ticket Renewal
I'll be at the season ender this weekend. I do feel that the Blues and Hitch are just waiting for this one, to shovel that last bit of dirt onto the CBJ grave and then packing it down.
I voted "none of the above" because it seems like just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. The CBJ have hit rock bottom and have started drilling.

I understand that Priest shares responsibility for this mess, but it's the GM's job to put a good team on the ice and to either resist the interference from non-hockey personnel or quit in protest. For me, it comes down to Howson, he's the face of the front office and he should take the fall for this season (and those awful ones that preceded it!). I'm already renewed, so I'm not in the same place as this poster, but my level of interest and support will be linked to who sits in the General Manager's chair. For me, at a minimum, there must be a new face as GM and another as coach. Otherwise, we're just continuing to swim in our own excrement.

Not sure I understand this one. Sounds like you are going to St. Louis, but it's not a season ender unless you are talking about that season series.
The poster who said, "when we lose the draft lottery" is probably right. THAT will be the final low point. Then again, there is always the return for the Nash trade, squandering the first round pick, Howson's UFA signings. Sigh. So many opportunities to sink even lower. Perhaps the truth is really that with the Jackets there is never a "lowest point", just a continuing succession of drops.

While last year I would have been part of the sunshine crew defending Howson and company... this year, I'm pretty much in agreement with your sentiment here.
As for the question whether it could be worse next year? Thank God that another expansion by the NHL is at least 2 years away, which I see being a possible outcome after upcoming CBA negotiations. Finishing at the bottom of the league with 2 new expansion teams in the fold would be a way to go lower.
