Pretty sure Duke only post after Jet's losses.

What were the final figures for face-offs overall? I thought the Jets were over 60%, after coming in as 30th in the league. Maybe moving Scheifele helped a bit with that.

61% Jets, 39% Canes

Maxwell did extremely well: 7 of 8 for 88%

Full stats are here: http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreport...2/FC020103.HTM

EDIT: they're now in 28th at 46.7%

Almost everyone had a good night in the FO circle.
It looked like they had been worked on in practices, especially trying to control the puck after ties.

I guess this means Maxwell is now our 3rd line center.

A line of MacLean-Maxwell-Wellwood isn't great, but not terrible either.

I'd love to see Klingberg or Cormier in place of MacLean, but I assume they want to let those players develop some more in the AHL.

Looks pretty awful to me. Wellwood's off to a decent start, but most of the credit belongs to Antro & Burmi. Now he's going to have to carry a line that features a couple of scrubs. Good luck with that.

You have to understand that a second year player that you are expecting to be your teams superstar should and will be treated much differently then a couple of NHL vets who may or may not be around when this team is a contender. Wheeler and Little have had these lessons before. Noel will give them a certain amount of time to get rolling and then will use them less if they aren't coming around.

Either way, NHL vets get more rope at the beginning of the year.

Evander belongs on the 2nd line with Burmi & Antro from here on out. He's one of the few legit core pieces on this team moving forward. You don't #### around with talent like that if you ever hope to be successful.

Perhaps good news?

I hope McArdle plays tomorrow vs. the Rangers. I think he can be a rugged and chippy forward for us.

I wonder if Mark Stuart is looking forward to his return to the lineup?

I realize that.. but it looked very sincere to me (and frankly I don't believe it always is, because there's an aspect of - this guy could take my job-). I do believe there is a positive stuff going on with that team. I don't think anyone is thinking selfishly now...

Listening to Burmi getting interviewed it's the same thing... he'd rather talk about or get a win than stand there and talk about his goal, etc.

Regarding Kane, I was at the game and I thought he had a strong game. He was skating well and was battling hard.

There was a shift where he busted his but back to our zone and was behind our net fishing for the puck. Once we had possession, he was the first guy down the ice and was in the opposition crease. First guy back, first guy in.

Believe it or not after some serious thought I think I like:

Wellwood-Antropov-Bermistrov

Now, I swear I'm not intixicated, but I would move Little off the line, and move Kane to Ladd and Wheeler's line.

Before you throw your computing device on the floor, hear me out...

Kane is trying... so is Wheeler. They are both putting in real effort. Both are fast when they want to be, and both Kane and Little need something to shake them up. Not to mention, it might be how the players wanted it, but the Ladd/Wheeler/Little line is easily the most underperforming trio of the team.

Noel said that was Kane's best game in the Sun, and he said he was happy with him on Burmi's line, lets hope he stays there all year.

The problem with Kane, Ladd and Wheeler together is there is no one to take the faceoffs.

We're bad enough in the league as it is there and not an area we can afford to make worse.

I think it coach restricts his line changes to 'who can win us a face off' then we're in big, big trouble.

Seriously though, without repeating myself too much... I just feel like Kane is on the cusp... so is Wheeler, and to a degree Ladd, of breaking out. Frankly I don't know what ails Little right not.

The "number one" line on the team does need a shake up IMHO.

This site certainly seems to think there was a naughty message in their "football jerseys".

He'd be an even worse coach to put 3 wingers together on a line.

We're over 24 hours on this one and hopefully someone's got a NYR GDT coming soon so we'll shut this one down and march onward to Game 8.

Holden Caulfield is set to create todays GDT. Just so everyone knows. If you're ever unsure who's creating it, check out our stickied GDT Schedule thread.
