Y'all got a lot of good suggestions here but I defy anyone to do better than Martin Brochu.

Yea because at that point we had a roster seemingly full of 1999 first round draft picks

Sedins
Pyatt
Beech

And speaking of short-lived and terrible Canucks, we also saw the likes of Maxime Ouellet (22nd) and Steve McCarthy (23rd).

Haha what a terrible draft. I'm so glad for the Sedins.

Correct answer.

Santana disproved the theory that *any* player can score goals with the Sedins. This is the degree of his play - Wade Brookbank of all people managed a couple of goals while riding shotgun for the twins in about half dozen games.

I'm sure there were some Canucks in the early years that were pretty brutal, being an expansion team and all.
Disagree that Cowan should be mentioned. He at least played well enough to earn a one year contract after being picked up on waivers by Nonis. Nonis' mistake was giving the guy a two year deal.

remember the offseasons when nonis would acquire plugs like brad isbister, byron richie, tommi santala, marc choinard...and then do absolutely nothing to rectify the situation until the trade deadline when we'd give away high draft picks for questionable rentals?

give gillis credit...he'll at least admit a mistake when he makes one and has the ability to turn chicken **** into chicken salad

"Goalie of the future" Kevin Weekes and "Essential to the Bure deal" Dave Gagner. Or how about Martin Rucinsky?

Sturm was essentially Doug Bodger - a good player signed as an UFA near the end of his career who didn't have it anymore and quickly washed out.

Messier is in a class of his own as the worst Canuck ever.

After that, guys like Larry Goodenough, Eric Weinrich, Felix Potvin, and Marc Chouinard headline the list of the worst non-callup types ever the play for the team.

No. Don't dare.

There is no telling what kind of positive influence he had on Kesler.

For the same reason, as far as worst all time Canucks go, I give Messier a pass too as he must have somewhat rubbed off on Naslund.

(waits for gay jokes.....)

Craig Coxe. Worst all time. Couldn't skate at all. No question about it. No skills.

Biggest disapointment is Messier. Some might credit Dale Talon with the title, but he was just a bust. Messier was just too big a deal not to earn the title.

None of those guys hurt the franchise like another alumni, though. Worst moment was Pat Quinn playing hardball with Gretzky. This makes Burke "driving Umberger to the airport" seem like a stroke of genius.

Do you? What exactly do you remember?

I think you may be thinking about Roman Oksiuta. Or Sven Butenschon. I tend to always get those 3 mixed up.

lol - my bad - i was actually thinking of keith carney - both carney and o'donnell played for anaheim at the same time, which is where we got carney from. I got the two confused.
