Sad to think that those 2 players probably think "Hey nice we're traded to the worst team in the other conference finally we'll have some ice time" and they are from Pheonix....

I just finished reading the thread and that was too perfect.

I still don't understand why PG won't go down the tougher type player road ? Must be he was one of those kids who was beat up in the school yard.

If Nokelainen can win faceoffs and not be a liability he surely can't hurt the team. You can't help but think it's a real shame Betts was injured though.

Sounds about right, he'll have Gorges, Markov and Markov again to talk about the knees.

Typical PG move. Boring and won't do much to improve the team.

Yeah, but he took only 31 faceoffs. Doesn't mean much.

In Phoenix, the important faceoffs were taken by Boyd Gordon who won 62% of his 88 faceoffs.

So I wouldn't call him a faceoff specialist based on this stat (not saying you did), even though it still looks better than Engqvist 41%.

And I'm also surprised to see that he didn't play at all on the PK for Phoenix.

Someone make a crappy highlight of Nokelainen so we can get overhype for nothing.

Obviously Pierre Gauthier is making a trade with Phoenix to build a good relationship with them so that he can make a blockbuster trade.

Maybe he got another phone by making this trade ?

I like this pick-up. Nokelainen is someone who I thought we should target for that 4th line centre spot once we sent Betts back to Philly.

He is not soft. He's a workaholic, has some size, is a solid penalty killer and fantastic on face-offs. He's better than either one of Engvist or Palushaj, and will help our fourth line, penalty killing and face-off percentages.

Also, he can play all 3 forward positions to add a defensive presence to a line that perhaps isn't that solid defensively late in a game.

We need a D now who can clear the front of the net. Habs should try and target Cory Sarich in Calgary.

Stafford will help out in Hamilton.

yeah because having one win up to date is normal.

Maybe you're a fairweather fan who doesn't follow them when they lose but I don't enjoy following a losing team. Do you?

Looks more like an AHL fix up than anything else. It's a good thing they sent Palushaj and Engvist down though, both don't belong in the NHL.

Seriously, I'm not sure what he actually brings to the Habs.
Look through his other years in the league and you see he hovers aruond 52-53% on top of the short sample this year, so its definitely a strength of his through his rather short career.

Also looking at his others years you see he does almost always end up playing decent PK time - strange he is not this year indeed though. Weirdly enough he has gotten some good PP time for Phoenix this year, though it doesn't look like he ever did in the past.
