I can deal with Perry since hes a good player who can be fun to watch. He also doesnt run guys or dive as much as brown seems to.
But see here's the thing: I think Brown actually does it less than Perry. It's just more noticeable. Brown stores it all up and then releases his diving energy in one big theatrical production designed for maximum effect. With Perry it's just a constant stream of embellishment on nearly any kind of contact with an opposing player.
despite my absolute distaste for anything to do with anaheim. (i'll mention here that i never once went to disneyland during the ~11 years i was there.)
despite his former place as my favorite l.a. king, back when he was not corrupted by the diving bug and was a hitting machine.
to me, perry performs his shenanigans with an air of toughness, in the corners, in front of the net, and such. there doesn't seem to be much physicality going on when brown does his crap.
also, as someone else mentioned, what puts it over the top is his role as team captain. (which is why i wouldn't want ott as the stars captain any time soon, although it seems that ott has cleaned his act up a bit this year.)

Reason: "also" to "although"
Perry is annoying, but he was vastly more skill that Brown. Dustin Brown is a captain and his style of play is just egregious to watch. It amazes me that the refs continue to give him his overly dramatic embellished dives game in and game out. He's a disgrace to the game.
