No, They're trading for Nieto. DW heard he had a top6 potential kid, so he was put on the market ASAP.

I was super paranoid about that for like the first half of the game. Would not put it past DW, but thankfully he didn't seem to be taking many notes on him.

Nieto and Crane were held off the scoresheet, but Cody Ferriero had a hat trick and 4 pts last night for Northeastern. He was hurt and then suspended for 2 games earlier in the year so his totals aren't high, but he has 8 goals in 16 games.

Interesting that they are 8-6-2 with him and 1-5-1 without

Amateur scouts generally don't go to games to scout just one particular player, especially because how good a player is at lower levels is often dependent on the talent level of everyone else around them.

I've also talked to enough scouts to know that there's a good chance he was just there "scouting"...showing up at games just to watch to see what they see is what they do. I once saw a couple scouts at a Mercyhurst/Holy Cross game, and they were there because they were in town doing other things and decided to go catch the game to see what there was to see.

Watched the Yale-Harvard game last night (NBCSN).

Blackwell (#63) had some slick moves, including assists (or working as a screen/distraction in the crease) on the tying and GWGs.

Was out there on PP and PK too.

Seems a bit on the small side (compared to some other players), but definitely "has the moves".

Irwin competed in the AHL skills comp's hardest shot.

92 and 90 mph. Well short of the winner (Kevin Connauton of the Chicago Wolves) with 99.4.

What a disappointment. Clearly he's not going to have an NHL future ahead of him.

Stalock has healthy rivalry with Oilers' Roy (in Stockton).

Small update on Dylan DeMelo from tonight against Barrie.

Definitely the best game I've seen DeMelo play this season. He was very good. He and partner Trevor Carrick were paired against the Scheifele line most of the night, and did a good job of neutralizing them. DeMelo had a couple of nice hits and did well to cover up some of Carrick's bad pinches. He was at his best at the point on the powerplay, where he was controlling the pace of play well and getting his shots through. Looked really composed back there. In the past times I've seen him this season, he's had some issue with the forecheck and turning the puck over in his own zone, but he had no turnovers tonight and was overall very solid.

Much appreciated. What kind of NHL upside (if any) would you imagine he'd have?

He looks fast. Somewhere between T Mitchell and D Setoguchi(potentially)? Too hard to tell. Smart defensively. He kills penalties and BU has 8(?) SH goals. Don't hold your breath on an offensive skill set but the kid can skate.

Oh god, he sounds like Torrey Mitchell...

I realize how broad that is but I'm very drunk. I was just watching Chi vs Cal and the CSN Chi broadcast said "stay tuned for the Jose Cuervo Post Game Show" but because I've had so much Zaya and Chopin, I kept yelling "Why the fock is CSN Chicago doing an interview with Joe Corvo of the Bruins?"

Uh, I've gone to tons of BU games and you really shouldn't be worried about Nieto's offense. Kid looks good, very creative playmaker who also has a really nice wrist shot. His main assets are his speed and skating which he uses not only offensively but he's also very adept defensively. Really good all around player, definitely not Torrey Mitchell. I fully expect Nieto to make a smooth transition to the pro game.
