In OHL action Hamilton played his last game of the regular season today. He picked up an assist and was a plus 1. He ended up the regular season with the Ice Dogs with 86 pts(35 g, 51 a),+29, 31 PIM in 61 games and was 2nd behind Agozzino in team scoring. The 1st playoff game is this coming Thursday against the Oshawa Generals. I will be in attendance so I'll give a full report back.

Maybe get a pool of 5 of the board members, some from Worcester and some not, to rank their top 20 and take the averages and make that the list? You're thinking something like that?
No one on this message board probably knows me but I've been messaging HF for years trying to write for the Sharks page. I attend many Hockey East games and have acces to Worcester Sharks games. I've been watching/playing hockey my whole life and honestly consider myself to have a great eye for talent without being biased.
Personally, I just think there needs to be more coverage. This site should be everyones number 1 stop for Sharks prospects. There should be weekly player reviews, monthly top 20 player updates and a lot more activity overall. I come here often and go weeks without seeing anything, and then finally see an article that simply states players stats. We all know stats don't always indicate how a player will develop. How about someone goes to a string of 3 BU games and writes a report on Nieto, or maybe 4 Worcester games and does some player evaluations, not simply just listing who scored this and that. If I want stats I can just go to USCHO.com or theahl.com.
This post may sound very critical but I've always been a major follower of player development from the time they are drafted and I think more effort could be put in.
My top 10...off the top of my head as I'm running around packing to go away on a long weekend, so I reserve the right to disavow this just in case I forget someone as I type away furiously with other things on my mind.
Based on total potential, leveraged with how close they are to being NHL ready.
1) Alex Stalock
2) Tommy Wingels
3) John McCarthy
4) Freddie Hamilton
5) Matt Nieto
6) Marek Viedensky
7) Michael Sgarbossa
8) Brandon Mashinter
9) Nick Petrecki
10) Harri Sateri/Tyson Sexsmith (yeah, I'm cheating a little here)
In the five minutes it took me to type I made about half a dozen changes...so let's call this a "preliminary list" for now.
I am not sure how anyone can put John McCarthy ahead of Nieto or even Sateri/Sexsmith.
I think you really need to look at potential. McCarthy has come pretty close to his ceiling. He is at best a career 3rd/4th liner. Nieto has the potential to be a 2nd liner player in the NHL. I have always disagreed with the standard for ranking the top 20. I think the most important thing is what skill set the player has and the max potential you see out of that skill set. Then balance that with the level of development they are showing. Nieto is only improving right now and having a monster year at BU. What exactly had McCarthy done this year to vastly improve on last season. Combine that McCarthy isn't improving at a rapid pace and Nieto not only has a much higher skill set but is developing, I just don't see how you put McCarthy as out #3 prospect. I probably wouldn't even put him as our #3 prospect on Worcester.
Who really cares if a guy is ready to play 6 minutes a game on the 4th line if he doesn't really have the potential to do a lot better than that? Players like that are very easy to find. Top 6 forwards on the other hand are not.
Just got back from the Ice Dogs game. Need I say I love blowouts. Freddie had a decent game, he was good on the PK but he ended up a -1, no PIM's and had 2 assists(both on the PP) in an 8-2 victory. Ice Dogs lead the Generals 1-0 in the Best of 7 series.
I am not sure how anyone can put John McCarthy ahead of Nieto or even Sateri/Sexsmith.
As you must have failed to read in my post, when I created that list I was doing about a gazillion other things while getting ready for a long vacation weekend.

That excuses forgetting a name, not listing a name above someone else. Even if I were on my death bed, I wouldn't rank someone like Murray ahead of Vlasic.
Doesn't that excuse forgetting a name, not listing a name above someone else? Even if I were on my death bed, I wouldn't rank someone like Murray ahead of Vlasic.
I threw a bunch of names up, thought about moving them around a little, got yelled at by my wife, thought about moving them around again, and then got yelled at again.

-"...but honey, I have to rank prospects online!"
-"I AM HAVING A BABY, YOU ASS!!!"
J.P. got lit up tonight as Sarnia lost game 1 of their OHL playoff series vs the Saginaw Spirit 5-1.

Hamilton picked up 1 goal(GW), +1, w/ 0 PIM tonight against Generals with a 6-1 victory in Game 2. (So far he has 1 g, 2 a and is Even, 0 PIM) in 2 games.
Ice dogs lead the series 2-0. Game 3 is on Sunday.
