After playing Detroit, what does everyone think of Koivu?

I'm still disappointed with his overall performance so far, but last night was a good example of how he can be a game-changer.

I don't know what the problem is - chemistry, lack of effort, or coaching style?

I'd really like to see Koivu emerge as an elite NHL center, but he's not making a very good case for himself.

The vaunted "top line" hold the points lead for the whole team:

Setoguchi 4G, 3A, 7 Pts
Heatley 3G, 4A, 7 Pts
Koivu 1G, 6A, 7 Pts

I liked Russo's tweet about Koivu passing the puck to Butch instead of shooting a one timer...and then being surprised Butch didn't pass it back.

Not worried about Koivu. Heatley and Guchi play different styles than Miettinen and Brunette. It's going to take a little time to get used to each other and develop chemistry. That's partly why Heatley and Guchi have looked (relatively) good out there, and Koivu has looked lost. They have that chemistry already, even if they didn't play on the same line in SJ.

I don't see anyone throwing an elbow, so I don't think he's in that picture.

I thought that was a magic eye picture where you stare at it until an image comes out. I was like "They made one for Mikko!?" I stared for a good 5 seconds before I realized that it was just a shrunken Where's Waldo!

That's funny, after seeing your avatar all morningin the "Koivu destroys Kronwall" thread, I had no idea it was Koivu until coming to this thread.

They keep *****ing and arguing even after the applicable rules have been posted and TSN's resident officiating expert writes an article explaining why it's not a penalty.

They're even refuting Kerry Fraser's opinion on the play that someone posted in there.

Reminds me of this skit from Monty Python:

Ya, he's being taken care of. It's amazing the sheer number of the all knowing types that come out of the woodwork when things like this take place.

That thread was destined for conflict from its inception.

Extremely entertaining, but I'll keep my comments to myself.

People that ignorant just make me mad. It's ridiculous.
I love this sport and for people like that to disgrace it in such a manner, it makes me angry.

Fox Sports Detroit interview with Kronwall. Apparently Kronwall is going to be okay and says the hit was a good play by Koivu.
