Agree with the general consensus here, Pavelec is the undisputed #1, unless this was a game that they were planning on starting Mason in anyways, you go with Ondrej.
It's not great to have Slater out of the lineup. Hopefully he will be alright. I'm not even going to type out the "C" word.
It will be interesting to see Mcardle in the lineup. I will admit that I don't know much about him. I'm not expecting much either, but it will be interesting to see how he plays and what he brings. Who plays centre on the 4th line in Slater's absence? Or does McArdle take McLean's spot on the 3rd?
As a Rangers fan for the past 20+ years, I'm finally getting to see my first ever Rangers game! I'm hoping we go to OT so both teams get at least one point. Sucks that Lundqvist isn't playing tonight, I was really looking forward to seeing him play.
I really hope McArdle makes a name for himself here. I'd love for the guy to dedicate himself in a role like Max Lapierre in Vancouver. We could use an agitator like that, I think.
I'm excited to see what McArdle does, and if Mason wins tonight, it will go a long way in his challenge for the no. 1 "spot". A win over NYR will almost forsure him the start of the roadtrip and who knows where momentum can take you? A big one for the Jets to not come out flat in.
A "Mason" chant was started briefly on Saturday. Maybe it will be more of the same tonight? Here's to hope.
Put McArdle, MacLean and Stapleton on line we'll call the AHL line!
MacLean is going to be an NHL talent.
It's important to remember that he's still a rookie and getting used to the NHL. He probably won't finish the year with more than 20-30 points, but as Burmistrov is proving, that doesn't mean he isn't going to develop into a good player.
He's a long term project, but I think he's going to be worth it.
so Mason is starting tonight?? ehh i do not agree with this. Gotta give Pavs the start and give him a chance to redeem himself, gotta figure his confidence could take a hit
Mason had a good game when he replaces Pavelec so I agree with giving him the start. If he does well and we win great! I would rather their be competition in goal.
Hopefully they will get over their 3d period jinx (outscored 9-1, the one was their very first goal, back in the opener against Montreal). That stat seems to symbolize their confidence problems, as their GF/GA is even in the other two periods.
So Holden, since you are using the same template for every GDT you do, do I have to keep saying nice job? JK... nice job again buddy!
I do not like Mason starting again, but the thing about him is, when he gets hot, he is unbelievable. He singlehandedly dragged St Louis into the playoffs one year when he got on a hot streak and refused to give up the net.
I would still start Pavelec. He is our long term stud and we need him getting games and confidence.
I agree with wanting to start Pavelec. In my opinion the 2 goals scored on him the other night vs. the Canes weren't directly his fault, and he was pulled more as a result of trying to wake up the team, in my opinion.
But, Mason did play well, you gotta give him that. Big game for him tonight.

The current template is about half of what I would like to see, it is a work in progress for when I get some time
Can anybody provide any links for these rumoured roster moves? I have found a couple sources saying McArdle is unlikely to play, some say he will likely play, lots of speculation about goaltending nothing concrete. For now I am leaving the lines as is (McArdle out, Pavs starting, Jones in) until I am shown/I find something solid proving me otherwise.
Also just a note but this is pretty much my favorite Jets pic ever. Looks like Burmi is singlehandedly holding off 3 Canadiens

I agree with the Mason start. He played well and we want to reward good play with more ice-time. I don't care who's officially the 'starter'. If goalie controversies = more wins I'll take it.
ETA: My guess is that they might have been planning to start Mason tonight regardless -- that it's not about what Pavs did or didn't do. I know the idea of starting Mason at some point this week was talked about prior to Saturday, though I can't find the link now. But that's just a guess.
