Except Eager actually poses more of a threat than Hordichuk is.

The worst case scenario is he puts one of our better players out for a long time, best case scenario, he wins the game for us.

BTW, Sundin made his Canucks debut against the Oilers in Edmonton too.

EDIT: So Booth is wearing #7? Thought he'd be wearing #10

Yep, looks like the team made him choose another number (his sisters'). Something planned for #10?..

Yeah, if we gave it to Tambellini last year and now it's off-limits, something's up. Hopefully not a Ryan Johnson comeback.

Could also be that 7 was his number before going to Florida. He wore it at the WC and U18 back in the day but changed to 10 when he went to Florida (Montador wore 7) and may not have felt like changing. Similar to Ehrhoff not changing his number when he had the chance (coincidentally to #10).

In the interview, he said he has a sixteen year old sister who plays hockey and wear's the number seven. (That's the reason why he chose number seven, I think..)

But since Samuelsson is gone, will we have two defensemen on the point, and will Burrows not be getting PP time anymore?

after the faceoff with posession in the offensive zone it has recently been:
kesler - burrows (top of crease) - henrik - salo (right point) - daniel (left point)

so to follow the same format given hodgson is a RH shot and probably wont be the guy in front of the net:
hodgson - booth/higgins (net) - booth/higgins - edler - bieksa

Hamhuis and Ballard... the hip check twins.

Hopefully Gillis is sending video to the NHL head office of Ballard's clipping calls to show they were clean hip checks.

I honestly don't think we'll ever see Booth on the PP. I don't even think he got much time in Florida.

Luongo starting for #Canucks in Edmonton. Newcomer Booth will also see second-unit power-play time against #Oilers.

Unless AV has something against former Florida players on his PP, he should be there. He was averaging over 3 minutes per game on the PP with Florida this year and just under 3 minutes last season so I think he's worthy of at least a look.

If this is the case, then I hope AV loads up with a 4-forward 1st unit. Burrows is the Canucks' 3rd leading goal scorer the past three seasons; he deserves to be on the PP. If AV wants to keep Higgins on the 2nd unit with the addition of Booth then I'd like to see a first unit of:

Kesler - H. Sedin - Burrows
D. Sedin - Salo

Edler can move down to the 2nd unit and kick off either Hamhuis or Bieksa. Personally, I'd rather Edler on the 1st unit as he's the team's powerplay quarterback, but you can't deny the success Salo has been having on the powerplay to start the season with his big shot. Another point: Daniel Sedin is really underrated as a forward on the point. He almost never gets a chance to play that role so I don't think many people notice how effective he is there.

The team 1040 mentioned that he was practicing today on the 2nd pp so he will likely see some pp time in the near future. really no reason why he shouldnt.

although he has been lackluster recently in florida i think a new start with a better team will be great for him, similar to how horton responded in boston alsongside guys like looch and krejci. cant wait to see how the 'american express' line turns out.

you're spot on with this one cuz they have been running this line already. i think keslers first goal this year was scored with this pp setup

I wonder if the the Canucks intend to play Ryan Nugent-Hopkins more physically this game. It seems where this has been done he has not played a prominent role.
