A report of the U20 Four-Nations from Mckeens(September 22, 2004)...pretty good Alex!

Alexei Emelin, D, Montreal Canadiens
Solid, reliable stay-at-home rearguard .. good skater moves well forwards, backwards and side-to-side .. tough to beat on turns .. moved the puck accurately out of his own zone .. has a rocket shot from the point, but did not show great accuracy .. keeps play simple to minimize mistakes .. shows a mean streak and takes the body hard .. aggressive along the boards .. initiates physical contact .. skated on the first defensive unit with Denis Ezhov.

Great news on (Y)Emelin! If he was on the first pairing at the tourney, there is a very good chance that he will be a member of the team at the WJC.

Good stuff on Yemelin, it would be great to see him at the U-20's.

In the RSL, Grabovski is off to a very good start. He is 2nd on the team in goals and pts I believe. No pts for Korneev though.

Grabovski- 8-3-1-4 4 pims
Korneev- 8-0-2-2 0 pims

In the sm-liiga, Korpikari is either on the 2nd or 3rd paring, not sure.

3-0-0-0 2 pims -1

In tier-2 Sweden

Johan Eneqvist 1-0-1-1
Heino-Lindberg 1-0 .895 save % 1.95 gaa

Good news for Tomas Linhart, as he gets called up to HC Moeller Pardubice (which is loaded with NHLers such as Bonk, Stumpel, Kotalik, Reichel, Rucinsky, Rachunek, Vrbata, Skoula, Straka)

No pts in the only game he played for Moeller.

In the 1st league, 4-0-0-0 0 pims +3

Also in Sweden, Heino-Lindberg gets a loss. 1-1-0 2.00 gaa .917 save % He faced 32 shots in the 3-1 loss and 19 shots in his first win.

No pts for Eneqvist. 2-0-1-1 0 pims.

No pts for Korneev or Grabovski in their 9th game of the season each.

Korpikari missed the 4th game of the season, don't know why.

Eneqvist with a assist, 2 assists in 3 games.

Heino-Lindberg got the win, 2-1-0 on the season, he's played in every game. 2.00 gaa .909 save % He let in 2 goals on 18 shots.

Tomas Linhart is still with HC Moeller Pardubice, he's played 3 games, 1 assist, 2 pims +1.

Alex Yemelin's profile has now been added to the roster for Lada at metallurg.ru, which could mean he will see some time in the RSL now that he's back from the 4 Nations U-20 tournament.

Christopher Heino-Lindberg gets his first SO of the season, in a 3-0 win. This puts him at 3-1-0 on the season, as he's started in every game so far. He's got a 1.50 gaa and a .936 save %

Eneqvist with 1g, 1a during the game. 4-1-2-3 0 pims. His 3 pts put him tied for 2nd in team scoring.

Also from another board, Alex Yemelin played for Lada-2 their junior team, and scored a goal. Hopefully he's just getting some games in, as I don't think he will stay there long, since he was a regular in the High league as a 17 year old (where he racked up an impressive 198 pims!)

No pts for Korneev or Grabovski today.

Korneev- 10-0-2-2 0
Grabovski- 10-3-1-4 4

He's still not playing. I don't know what's going on, other then he was in court on the 16th. He may not play till November, but there's just no info to go off of either way.

Edit: It looks like I was given some misinformation. Perezhogin played his first game today for Omsk and scored a goal in a 3-3 tie!!!

Here's his Russian profile. Look at his overall numbers at the bottom. sweet

Around 50. They split the season in two, plus the playoffs. Perezhogin has missed about 10 games this year. His last season in the RSL, he played 49 games, + 8 playoff and 6 WJC games and 10 Senior National team games. So he should get in around 40 games, + playoffs and National team games.

Emelin was on the second pairing for Lada according to Russian Prospects. They have a very deep and experienced defence and have added a handful of NHL players to their rostor so that is impressive. Hope he sticks.

Lada's oldest defensemen is 29, with one other defensemen over 24. Their regulars age are 19, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26, 29, with two limited action players aged 24 and a 18 year old in Yemelin or Емелин Алексей if you prefer Russian. That's an average age of 22.75 for their regular defense, or any defensemen who's played in more then 5 games so far. Not very old I'd say. 4 of their defensemen are NHL draft picks, with Yemelin, and 2 leafs prospects all being '04's and one wings prospect from the '00 draft.

Edit: My bad Lada actually has 5 drafted defensemen. How in the world I could forget Habs '98 pick Andrei Kruchinin who went 198th overall. He was paired with Yemelin in yesterdays game.

I believe the coach wanted to give one of the other kids, Mikko Palomäki, a try.

Korpikari has been playing quite a lot past couple games and on both special teams too. At the moment (old Canadiens pick Ilkka Mikkola hurt) hes playing on the 2nd dman pairing. His partner is 28-yo 6'5" 230lbs, stay at home character Kimmo Lotvonen, which should allow Ozi to make jumps for offensive game.

I think hes done excellent job and I'm rooting for him, but that may not be enough. Theres a lot of competion for spots on Kärpät roster these days, and its going to be more intense when Mikkola is ready to play again and if Kärpät sign Janne Niinimaa, as rumored.

There is small interview with Emelin http://hclada.ru/interview/?id=04-10-01_2 on HC Lada site.
Imo, there are only two intetesting things in this interview:
1. His purpose right now is to stay with main team.
2. Alexander Emelin first games in RSL was good enough and trainers have congratulated him with successful debut after he earned "+2" in 5:1 win.

Thanks, I saw a translation of this article, but it was pretty rough. I liked how they talked about how he racked up close to 200 pims last year, here's the quote not sure what tafgayem means though?

"The past season you conducted in samarskom TSSK VVS, where collected about 200 minutes of penalty. For fans it does be worthwhile to be prepared for the appearance of half-baked "tafgaya"?

— (it laughs) no large quantity of penalty connected with the play disturbances and the small skirmishes, so that tafgayem 4 I am not"
