Good, I have a hard time finding a flaw in his game - other than his skating being a little choppy and awkward, but he'll get smoother as he fills out his frame - and he's been a great PKer for us.
not sure about him staying on the 4th line instead of the first in QJHML...
Why? I'd much rather him continue to gain experience on the penalty kill and defensive situations in the NHL than tear up a league he's clearly already dominated...
Scheifele was definitely not ready which isn't the case with Couturier.

I don't think it will hurt his development at all. My only concern is not wasting his entry level contract on a 4th line role. He will be RFA the same year Meszaros and Read will reach UFA status while Schenn and Giroux will be restricted. We might have to waive goodbye to one of the centers that summer. If he isn't going to be used in a top 9 role it would be wiser to delay his contract a year.

I just have a feeling they will make room for him in the top nine eventually..

hes been good so far, and has earned the stay. Rather have him stay here around NHL coaches and players instead of going back to junior and develop bad habits. Even the coaches in drummonville said earlier this season/offseason he belongs in the NHL. not junior.

The first RFA year might not necessarily be that costly.
But if it is, that means that Couturier will already be blossoming into a star player by the time he is 20-21. If they have that kind of young talent on their hands, they will be trying to accomodate him with a long term deal.
He deserves to stay, but part of me wanted him to go back and lead the WJC in scoring to shut up all the people that say Huberdeau or Strome is better.
Big Phan of Couts...he deserves to be playing with the big boys. Thus far leads the team in +/- I believe which is amazing. Lots of poise for an 18 yr old....
