The good news is there is definite improvement.

The bad news is they still play horrible third periods. They play best at home. The crowd does seem to light a fire under their butts. Unfortunately we are talking a road trip here so I'm going on a limb and saying 5 Points on this road trip.

I'm going to use Saturday's Carolina game as inspiration for my prediction.

They lose the first 2 games then rattle off 5 straight wins...

That's right. 5 straight!

Wait... you said expectation. I expect .500, based on their recent play and I think this road trip will be good for them.

I'm hoping for at least three wins. I think it's doable.

i'll go with the reverse, 2-4-1.....this trip could be a real tone setter for the rest of the season....if they come back 6 games under .500 it could be a long climb back, even with 60 games to go.

lets hope they catch fire and surprise us all...would make for an awesome first game back.

I consider myself a "realist" (many might consider that as "pessimist" but oh well) but I somehow end up in the middle here. I think many of you are reading too much into the proceeding game with these doom and gloom 1-6 predictions. I say...

PHI - Loss
TBL - Loss
FLA - Win
NYI - Loss
NJD - Win
NYR - OT Loss
BUF - Loss

For a 2-4-1 record. Brings us back home at 4-9-2 and in big trouble for those of you hoping for playoffs, but more or less right in line with where I saw the team at unfortunately.

I'm predicting 7 points, the Ladd-Little-Wheeler line will start producing and the team will come back home a more cohesive group.

Good to hear Jimmy's making the trip and Claude, get Wellwood back on one of the top 2 lines.

PHI - win Flyers are playing the Habs tonight, plus no Pronger.

TBL - loss Tampa has really turned it around. 3 wins in a row and scoring a lot this year.

FLA - OT/SO loss This is winnable. First game back for Florida after a 3-game road trip. Personally, I think they were lucky to beat the Habs on Monday.

NYI - loss Isles have lost 3 in a row and have Pittsburgh and San Jose before this game. They will be due for one. Potentially winnable, but I think the Isles see this as a winnable game too

NJD - loss Tough place to win. Jersey looks like they're back to being good this year.

NYR - win We're due after that last one.

BUF - OT/SO loss We can maybe steal one here. Buffalo is in Calgary the night before, so we'll probably see Enroth.

So that's 2-3-2.

I'm going to go with a 2 - 4 - 1 record.

Philadelphia (Loss) - No Pronger is a bonus, but we still have to deal with Giroux, Jagr and Vanriemsdyk. Bryz will eat up a team struggling for goals.

Tampa Bay (Loss) - Expecting an ugly one here. Stamkos and St. Louis will light it up.

Florida (Win) - After getting chewed out by Noel, this will be their best game of the trip.

NYI (Loss) - Will be a close one, but inability to capitalize will be the downfall.

New Jersey (Ot/Shootout Loss) - Another good effort, but a game breaker like Parise or Kovalchuk will be the difference.

NYR (Loss) Probably gonna see Lundqvist this time. Enough said.

Buffalo (Loss) End of the road trip, boys will be tired and will hang on for awhile before the Sabres break it open.

If we come home with more then 2 wins in regulation I will be surprised but I am also hoping to see less turnovers and a more consistent effort.

No realistic shot for the postseason by the end of November.

If this is the result I'll run out into the street and dance down Portage in jets gear.

It seems pretty safe to say that they'll have the worst record in the league when they return home.

After watching Philly lose to Montreal, I definitely think we can win that game.

This isn't the Flyers team of years past. Without Richards and Pronger, they're not good at all in their own zone. If we can sustain the type of pressure we did against NYR, I think we can take it.

Philadelphia - Loss. They're too much for the Jets. I don't expect a blowout though as they played tonight and will be without Pronger. I hate the Flyers as much as anyone, but you have to admit they are a very good team this year.
Tampa - Loss. The Jets are still struggling with defensive zone play and breaking out of their own end. They'll be in tough against a very fast and talented group of forwards on the Lightning.
Florida - Win. The Panthers are not a very good team and the Jets have been improving. I expect us to finish well ahead of them at the end of the year.
Islanders - Win. The first line should get going by this time. After a bad start to the road trip I expect the Florida game will give them some momentum.
New Jersey - Loss. Wild guess (not that the others are not)
Rangers - Win. The Jets really should have won on Monday. If they can repeat that performance, they'll do fine.
Buffalo - Loss. Miller will get the shutout.

3-4 on the trip. Just a wild guess though. I'm not worried about results too much at this point, I'll be interested in seeing how consistent they are and how much they continue to improve.

There is NO way we are going 6-1 on this road season.

I will start cheering for philly if that happens...

Jets on pace to score 63 goals this road trip.

I'm not greedy though, 60 is acceptable.
