Downie always seems to be getting rocked, then at the end gets some good shots in.

I think it may have worked in the macro game, as the focus seemed to be on the perimeter game, including the D. That may have thrown off the Sabres thinking just enough to reset them back to more generalized play.

Having those wings rush back to cover the D again and again would wear them down as well.

The ice has tilted away from the Sabres, at least for now.

Interesting that they're so eager to counter the Lightning's tactics.

Great play by Connolly to keep that in. Shame Lecavalier couldn't get it clean for a one-timer, probably would have beaten him then.

And it seems that as soon as he gets the advantage the fight ends. kaleta just ducked out and fell when the tide turned.

Good response. Had all the makings of "one of those games" again.

I like that the intermission show didn't seem to act like the narrative had changed from the first 3 minutes.

"How important was getting an early lead to the Sabres?" (that had since been made moot by a perhaps more important late period goal)

When I watch Versus do a Bolts game, they always seem so biased. They're the Fox News of hockey coverage.
