Was hoping this would be more like the Canada Games, as in a best on best tournament.

The players were selected by random draw. All 13 Hockey Canada divisions are represented by at least one player. Curtis Hunt (Sask) and Jim Hulton (Ont) were selected to the coaching staff.

Its deffinetly a random draw. Its understandable, but I dont think anyone will look at this list as a top players for Canada team.

Well you should ask Tigers, but I think Cornell is the only top 50 player for Ontario. Josh Ho-Sang for example, the top prospect, isn't there.

Correct, and Cornell from Upper Canada is a top prospect this year in Ontario, but I think we all can agree that its not a list of the top players in Canada, just a few sprinked in with some good players at the age group.

Martin and Duke are some of the best 96 birthdate prospects from Alberta.

Ho Sang plays in the GTHL. Unfortunately, the GTHL is not recognized as a division of Hockey Canada.

Sure it is. The GTHL is a part of the OHF, which is then a part of Hockey Canada.

How so? There is a GTHL player on the announced team, Josh Carrick.

I'm going by what a Q scout has said, that being said time will tell. And Audette has been doing alot of talking. So it probably depends on the team.

More about how the random drawing worked here on TSN:
http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/story/?id=378607

Random....yes, but not completely random as each of the 13 branches chose only 1 player at each position. For example, why did hockey BC choose Gropp at forward over Virtanen? I'm positive it's out of respect for the highly competitive/results driven nature of the BCMML, take Virtanen off of his team and you handicap them for the entire time he's gone. Both Gropp and Hicketts play for a hockey academy (Okanagan).

It is pretty random.

From what ive read, it sounds like alot of kids opted out of the draw.
