If the Flyers could somehow get Kronwall without giving up a lot, talk about a bruising defense.

I don't think kronwall is anywhere near available... Detroit wants to sign him long term(they just began contract talks also so I don't think thats an issue right now at least)

Yeah, with Lidstrom getting even older I have trouble believing Detroit would let Kronwall go.

It would be typical of Homer to trade away Shelley and get such a massive underpayment.

Columbus is right up to the cap ceiling as well I think, so no salary dumps going in their direction.

Possibly misread that. D.Leed tweeted the Detroit vs Columbus game but Carchidi and Seravalli tweeted that Holgren is going to Detroit. Detroit is playing in Columbus so he might be scouting something else that is located in Detroit.

Maybe he needs a new car.

They can deal with this and his tin plated feet..we got enough drama with Prongs. Although maybe we can swap Voracek for Morris....
BTW Columbus is supposedly looking to bring back Hitch..that would be interesting.

Since Detroit isn't hurting, it's possibly more likely that Holmgren is reacting to Columbus GM's urgent desperation to turn it around, especially since Carter went down. They are as panicked as Montreal and see the Flyers surplus of talent. The question is what they could offer in return for a difference maker and that's what Paul has to observe first hand.

apparently homer had to give up a 2nd to both teams just to scout this game.

The ticket price for his box seat will probably count against the cap.

Bwaha. Needed a good laugh.
I wouldnt be suprised if it was a Columbus defender like Kris Russel or Marc Methot.
Obviously there is no need for another winger or centerman.

Fixed that for you.

We can't bring anyone in though without trading someone like Hartnell. We can't even call up someone to replace Pronger unless he goes on LTIR.
So buying a car is the most likely scenario.

Maybe they are thinking about Hartnell to Columbus? He is scouting what he would want in return? Columbus need offense right now don't they?

Yes, he's probably soured on the whole bike-riding thing.

Someone might want to let him know that car dealerships exist before he flies to Japan for a scouting trip.
