I don't see how any reasonably intelligent Sens fan could say that the Sens have a brighter looking future than the Leafs do.
Missing Michalek from our list of established forwards.
Can't disagree that your blueline is currently better than ours.
Reimer and Anderson are on the same level. Don't kid yourself.
Re. Prospect Pools:
Offensively we're pretty even. You have Kadri, we have Zibby. You have Colborne, we have Filatov. You have Frattin, we have Silfverberg. Beyond that we still have Butler, Greening, Grant, Da Costa, Stone, Noesen, Puempel, and Prince, so you can't really say you have more depth.
On the blueline, our prospects are better if you include Aulie/Rundblad/Cowen. We've got enough depth, and I think you guys have some pretty good pieces too.
In net, we've got the better goalie prospect (unless you count Reimer in this category, then I'd say Reimer and Lehner are probably about equal) but we have no depth compared to the Leafs.

You guys have 3 top-6 forwards (maybe 4 if you count Foligno, and only one of them's a real good one; you guys only had one forward with over 40 pts last year), a below average defence (right now, obviously you guys have some great pieces for the future here), and an average goaltender. Not exactly a recipe for success, but certainly not bad enough to barely win 10 games. I'd guess you'll win anywhere from 25 - 35.
I don't see you guys having much of a shot (if any really) at the playoffs this year, and probably not next year (although you should be 8 - 12 in the East IMO, not a lottery team), but once your prospects develop you should have a pretty good team. The only thing is that most of your good forward prospects (Puempel/Noeson) other than Zibanejad and Butler are at least a year or two away from playing in the NHL, let alone being impact players, so if you guys don't pick up a lottery pick this year and draft a forward, I could see it taking you guys a little longer than two years for you guys to have a good team.
We know, don't worry. Pretty much everything is terrible in the Sens organization but things could be worse. We could have been missing the playoffs since 2004

lol isn't funny to read a Leafs fan who's comparing his team to a rebuilding team? I guess that's what happens when you have very low standards
That being said, I wouldn't even trade our "rebuilding" line-up vs theirs
8 years without playoffs must be very hard on the pride. How can you wear your team jersey when you're out of town then?
I haven't seen a Leafs jersey or cap at the airport or food shows in a decade. I have seen Habs, Sens, Wild, Kings, Flames, etc stuff but nothing of the Leafs lol
In my other post I was being generous and only including players who I percieved to be "core" players. Meaning high-end players who are already established, and young enough to contribute to a team for a long time.
Wow
I think he meant their D core is much more expensive, not much better
Thanks for the bump on this thread. This one post is gold. There is a lot of hindsight here so can't rip on them too much, but some of this is hilarious. I'm pretty sure Leafs would trade half those players away to have a #1 center like Spezza then or now.

We certainly have the better core group of players than you guys do.
Kessel, Grabovski, & Kulemin > Spezza
I wonder if he meant collectively? Because he can't think individually they're better than Spezza.

It's funny because if we didn't have Anderson, only about 10 other tenders in the league would've done equivalent or better with the Sens in front. Reimer isn't any where near Leafs MVP. Lupul/Kessel easily run away with that. Don't know how long Reimer even kept the Leafs competitive but it only felt like it was about 1/2 the season.
