I think would be awesome if we can eventually get Jacob Markstrom from the Panthers. I mean, he is/was the #1 goalie over in Sweden. And yes, i know there is a difference between there system over there and our NHL system.
Invent a time machine, go back to the 2007 NHL draft, distract Feaster with a big of cheetos and stop the Gratton for the pick that became Markstrom trade.

...but, I think that Rinne will stay in Nashville for a lot of bucks. However, Tokarski will never be our goaltender No.1 IMO. I would like to trade for Cory Schneider rights. Young and talented goaltender ready to be star between the pipes, that's what we need

I'm sure if we give them something good in return, we could get Markstrom. if not, maybe in a few yrs down the road we could get him.

Wasn't "The Monster" Gustavsson also very good in Sweden?
I think we should go for Victor Fasth, he is playing better than both Tim Thomas and Kiprusoff when they were playing for AIK, he is for sure the real deal and worth a shot.

What happened to Fasth anyway? In the off-season there was a lot of talk about him and allegedly several teams wanted to lure him over.
Talk.
He's 29 years old, and the logic behind the Bruins bringing Tim Thomas over was that he wasn't expected to be 'the guy'. Now because of him, every overage goalie in Europe is getting looked at like he can step right in to a Vezina nomination. Which is unreasonable.
Thomas was signed by Boston before the 02-03 season at the age of 28. Although he did get a cup of coffee in the NHL that season, 4 games, 3 of them being wins. He spent the next seasons with Providence.
The lockout came, but he wasn't retained in their system during that time. He returned to the SM-Liiga instead and played great.
(from wikipedia)
Quote:
2005-2006
In August 2005, Thomas signed to play with Jokerit for the 2005–06 season, but his contract included an NHL option and on September 14, one day before the regular season in the SM-liiga started, Thomas announced he had signed with the Boston Bruins, leaving Jokerit with rookie goaltender Joonas Hallikainen as their sole goaltender. Eventually Jokerit used three North American goaltenders (Karl Goehring, Steve Passmore and Tom Askey) that season but missed the playoffs.
When he returned to North America, he was assigned to Providence of the AHL out of training camp. However, as Boston suffered injuries to their two goalies Andrew Raycroft and Hannu Toivonen, Thomas earned his first call-up to the NHL in three years and took over as the Bruins starting goalie, completing the 2005–06 season with a 12–13–7 record, 2.77 goals against average (GAA), .917 save percentage and his first NHL shutout. As a result, Thomas was awarded the Boston Bruins 7th Player Award, voted by the fans as having gone beyond expectations. In the off-season, Thomas was re-signed by the Bruins to a three-year deal.
Thomas was 32 when he really established himself as a starter.
I was only saying that Markstrom was like in the top 3 goaltenders of all Sweden. Just cause he doesn't have the nickname that Gustavsson does, doesn't really mean anything.

My post didn't really respond to yours, it was more of an unrelated ramble.
Im disappointed Roli changed his mask again (he usually does every year) but his Thor mask was probably the best one hes ever had
Are you referring to the blue "Bolts" mask? It's a 3rd jersey only mask. Although, he may try it out with the other jerseys to see if it has some good juju

Roli seems to have some superstition in him like a lot of players. Won't be surprised if he keeps that mask from now on. Heck, he might even change jerseys or only play when they wear the "Bolts" shirts.
So does anyone think Tokarski has peaked or only going through a bad slump? Seems like Janus is outplaying him right now.
I believe at his age it's a bit different, he got his family here and they have settled down so he doesn't wanna grind in the AHL, if he would be 18-20 or so the situation would be another.
