If anything I think the #1 centre position still appears to be Backlunds job to lose as no one has stepped up and outright seized the opportunity.

The Avs don't scare me as much this year without having Stewart on their team.

We may just have a keeper here, not to mention we got Wotherspoon and Granlund from the deal.

If anyone is interested in who the Rangers ended picking with the 5th round pick we sent to the Rangers in the Erixon deal, I believe it ended up being Shane McColgan from the Kelowna Rockets.

He's actually off to a pretty decent start:

all in all I was happy with the effort, but they need to stop siting back when they have the lead in games. They are a great team when we are down a goal but they seem to coast as soon as we are 1 up.

Glad we won so I can stop reading everyone's over reaction, calling for a rebuild.

I want Bourque traded. Sick of his attitude and his post game comments show his level if ignorance. I'm also sure we could land a couple of really good young players for him.

IMO the flames have been the better team for 3 games now. Even the NAS one, I was at it and they played better then a 2-0 loss.

I think once Backlund gets back this team is going to be pretty solid. If we can improve our physical presence on the backend at somepoint this year, I like this team's chances at a PO spot.

Agree with MVW, COL does not scare me too much without Stewart in the lineup. But in a couple of years lookout, they should be a deadly team. Duchene's spin move last night was sick!

Better show up for 60 minutes against STL cause they are smoking after last night.

Agreed, Landeskog will replace Stewart and possbily give them more at that position and who knows how good Duchene is going to get playing along side him. They also have Statsny as a great #2 centre, Erik Johnson to anchor the blueline and they finally have seem to found a goaltender. This team will be really good in a couple of seasons.

And I think St. Louis will be the "big" surprise this year out of the West. Berglund is a solid young and talented centre and Stewart hasn't even got rolling this season (and he's a Flames killer). They basically have 3 lines that are playing really good hockey right now and Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk are solild on the backend. The Flames better get up for that game!

Colorado has a long way to go right now. The D corps is pretty bad, Quincey is good but can't handle the big minutes EJ is a good piece to have, but I think they need to compliment him with something better.

Staz and Duchene down the middle are good, same with O'reilly as the #3. Their wing depth is pretty bad. Hejduk is alright, but getting up there in age, Landeskog and Jones are nice, but outside of that Kobasew is part of their top 6 right now.

They still need to look at adding two top four D men, though they do have some nice prospects that might fill that. They also need another winger to play in their top six.

"We still could play better," Bourque said. "We kind of let them back in the game there in the third, but Kipper played well and made some big saves. Credit to him for keeping us in there at the end."
Is THAT what you're getting all bent out of shape over? It's the ****ing truth!

The three games I've missed this season, the Flames have won.

Caught it on sportsnet late night after I got back from hockey.

He said that it was nice to see Stemps and Horak score their 1st goals because the flames really need secondary scoring from guys like that.

I know, what's wrong with that? But it was the way he said it. The tone of arrogance was so obvious in those words. Like he's been lighting it up and everyone else has been dragging their ass. If I was Sutter I would want to beat him over the head with a stick. Get a ****ing clue Bourque, besides the fact that he has 5 goals this year nobody has dragged their sorry ass around the rink more then him!

Maybe my comments are a little harsh, but his head seems to be outgrowing the locker room.

Just my 2 cents, I'm sure if you look at the SN highlights from last night you will find them.

EDIT: It could have been TSN now that I think about it. Also you have to see the video, because it's his facial expressions that are a dead giveaway about how he really thinks.

There's nothing to say that he was excluding himself from the implication that the team has been crappy offensively to start the season. It's true, after all. He probably just has a dry sense of humour and got a bit sardonic.
