But I don't think the team is at fault for it still making news this far removed from the incident. That's the only point I'm trying to make.

To not make a story out of it? It's pretty clear they're not gonna be doing anything to Chara and are gonna let it die down and say nothing will happen at a later date. It may seem stupid, but it's just cuz there are those few fanatic morons will be upset over this, so they probably decided to let it go. You think it makes sense for them to say now "Chara won't be charged" in public? They probably told chara don't worry about it already.

The article has no quotes, no real sources to suggest anything.

****, i can make an article about anything really.

In any case, I apologize for coming on your board to say this is retarded. I'd rather you hate the habs for the habs, and not some stupid reporting. At this point, there's more threads about an incident "we can't let go of" on your board than ours. It's media tricking you guys into thinking we care about it. Pacioretty is fine, might play tomorrow and I hope it's a good, entertaining game. The rest is just ********.

When this case gets closed, and it will, you don't think it will be made public? They're going to have to do it eventually. IMO, the longer it goes the worse it is.

Agreed. It should have been closed over the summer, with little fanfare.

Now, every time these two teams meet, it will be dragged up again by the media. Just put it to bed already.

Even if it is entertaining for us Bruins fans.

Really? You think they should close the case before a home and home or mid season? I'd guess this is overwith next summer. Think past what's logical for a minute and realize nothing is perfect and this is far from a matter where police force cares about the situation. I'm not part of the police and know it's a joke. Just this goes past hockey. There's wackos out there who get overexcited to these things and they are 'studying the case' to minimize emotional reactions. I find it stupid and wish it would just go away tbh.

He's game time tonight. Might play tomorrow. I'd imagine Chara and him might even talk on pre game warm up and chara might even say "good luck and good game" and be classy about it. All is forgiven I believe and both want to move on with their careers.

all it took was one idiot to call the cops and report that incident, dont act like all bruins fans are perfect. The management and PacMan already went live on TV saying to drop that crap,it was a hockey play nothing more, real dirty IMO but cops have ZERO to do with that incident. We MTL fans do not agree that chara wasnt suspended for the act but involving the cops was even worst and a disgrace to everyone, has for chara obviously nothing will happen chill out

Unforunately it was more than one idiot. Just not as many as people make it out to be.

That the case is still open is (IMO) just an indication that in the overall priority of the Crown Prosecutor, this is somewhere around priority 8,000,000,000. They just haven't gone through the motions to close it, knowing that they'd be inundated with journalists trying to get quotes when they do that. It'll just die a slow death until everyone realizes it's going no where.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Martin just nudged a TSN reporter to write a story so that the "Fire Martin" brigade would have something else to talk about for a few hours.

The invesitagators reportedly talked to Chara over the summer. Why the investigators didn't simply say "case closed" the next day is head-scratching. Though no more head-scratching as to why they made this a case to begin with, I suppose.

Wow what a coincidence that this story comes out a day before the game!

Montreal fans are very passionate about there team, and im sure that they beleive that they have a chance to win the cup every year. They lose one of there best players in a bad incident they loose the best of 7. Then Canada has alittle redemption coming because the best team in the league is Vancouver. Well we all know how that turned out. And this year there team is at the bottom of the league. The Bs are not doing much better. I am wondering if they are reluctent to release the fact no charges are going to be done. Maybe they dont want more riots or other stuff. Im not sure but it does not seem that anyone wants this anymore.

That's really when the rivalry started y'know. Massachusetts general conquers Montreal, and they never did get over the inferiority complex that came from that. After all no Montreal general ever exactly conquered Boston, did they?

The only reason we don't use it more often is because, you know, Benedict Arnold.
Benedict Arnold was from Connecticut. Other than that you're right

Only in Montreal:

You call 9-11 when a player is hit
You make a court case about a hockey hit
You're still serious about a court case about a hockey hit after almost a year
