Nystrom could be a nice fit, he is a lot like Kostopoulos...hits(169 hits in 82 games, 28th in the NHL among forwards), plays with heart and will drop the gloves, can kill penalities and is known as a good team player. Pluys at 700k he costs less cap hit than Engqvist and Palushaj.

@fel....Russo's pretty connected. I wonder if Montreal gets their waiver position restored after the Betts fiasco because that would mean that their claim would supercede dallas' if I'm not mistaken.
From Russo:

@mngunslinger Dallas needs 1.2 or so. 700 off re entry
http://twitter.com/#!/Russostrib/sta...25879431393280

Pierre Gauthier could surprise Dallas. Who knows...

BTW, I'd like to point out Nystrom is a great guy. He takes the time to reply to everyone tweeting him.

Zack Stortini

Sorry not sure where I can post this, Do you think Habs brass might be interested in this fella?
HEIGHT: 6' 4"
WEIGHT: 215
SHOOTS: RIGHT
BORN: SEP 11, 1985 (AGE 26)
BIRTHPLACE: ELLIOT LAKE, ON, CANADA

Cap hit
AHL NHL salary cap hit
2011-12 $75,000 $550,000

Maybe add a little needed grit toughness? I know Brass and Hab fans don't really want a tough guy to ride the pine, but this guy is young enough and might do well in a Hab jersey.

any thoughts

Yes I'm a leaf fan, but I'm a hockey fan first and watch all televised Hab games as well.

Stortini is a useless player.

He's just a typical goon...

I wouldn't mind Nystrom, he reminds me a little of his father actually. Better than Blunden at least.

I guess it depends on when White comes back though.

If they want a scrapper a guy they could look at with a bit more skill than Stortini is Bodie...I think he had a tryout with Winnipeg but did not sign...

Nystrom is good 4th liner. Could be a good pick up, though what we need is a center on the 4th. He's a very tenacious player.

I believe Nystrom played a lot of center at some points in his career.

I remember he played C in his last game ever with the Wild.

He also plays LW.

another option on defense could be Kent Huskins, he was signed as a UFA by St.Louis but has not dressed yet, maybe they'd rather have a younger player as #7 and would move him cheap...

Not to put too fine a point on it but their hope for competitiveness was Anderson and so far, he's goaling for about .850.

Terribad defense or not, that just ain't gonna cut it.

Ottawa sucks, then they score 3 goals fast and they look like a much different team.
