New York Rangers scouts at last night game in van/min

@DarrenDreger
Darren Dreger
Vancouver and Florida make a significant early season trade. Not surprised,a lot of discussion around the league. Canucks may not be done.

@Russostrib
Michael Russo
Former #mnwild GM Doug Risebrough also on press row scouting for #nyrangers

hmm.. Wild needs offence, Rangers need defense so something like Wolski for Zannon?

Don't see the Wild making any sort of trade until near, at the very least, the deadline. Especially on offense which in my opinion they really aren't looking to add to as of yet. They need an impact defenseman at some point but no need to really do that in a year that's more about buying time and building towards the future than it is truly competing for a playoff spot (and success).

Given Vancouver has already made a move, I'd lean more towards them looking to shake things up than the Wild. Though, there's scouts at every game and there's really not much of a reason to read much into these things.

I don't read much into it. Rangers are out West so they took this as an oppurtunity to scout Western teams.

The Rangers employ a front office of about 20 people. What do you expect them to do besides watch hockey games?

Russo always tweets about Risebrough scouting the Wild games considering they knew each other when Risebrough was the Wild GM until 2 years ago.

The Rangers have already played Van and don't play Min until March.

Far be it for me to tell the NYR how to employ their scouts but seems like a waste of time unless they actually are looking at someone specific.

i don't think it's anything to look into too much, however, i personally would like to see something done. i know it's early but the Rangers need to do something.

Do something? They have played 6 games. They are 2-2-2. They have spent 3 out of the last 4 weeks on the road. They are without 2nd best player. Some of the Ranger fans are a bunch of idiots. I'll probably be reprimanded for that comment but its the truth.

well it is a bit harsh haha but they really do need to do something. whether it be a move or a benching im not saying fire the coach and trade our best player, but even if it's a little help on the blue line, something may need to be done. you're right, it's early and i agree but for the sake of conversation and this thread, i would like to see something done to mix it up and maybe get the offense going a little.

ahhh i'll back ya up. Everyone freaks out too much. Its early and they can turn it around. I expect them too

with that said a Dman coming in to help with no Staal would be nice. Sauer back Monday would go a long way as well

I'd love to know why Ranger fans think teams are craving Wolski.

*reads thread title*: Oh crap.

*reads content in OP*

Welp, if any other scout were looking to pluck some apples from my team I would be a little nervous about them pulling one over on Chuck Fletcher. Ol' Dougie didnt exactly set the bar for talent evaluation here in Minnesota.

For our last playoff push/run, his idea of loading up was trading for Chris Simon. Maybe we'll get a 1st and Kreider for Staubitz? Ha.

I'll agree that Some ranger fans are idiots. And I'll agree that it's early. But the leftmost 2 on that line could have easily been a 0 if we didnt have one of the best goalie's in the league backing us up. Concerning to say the least. It's clear as day that missing Staal is ****ing with the rest of our game as a whole.

We should turn this into a "Ongoing Lots of Scouts At Various Games" thread. Here's a big 'un.

That's quite a few scouts. My guess: Florida, after adding two forwards, has put the word out that they have forwards available for deal.
