Would this even do anything for Toronto? They'd just be trading their number 2 centre and getting back a number 2 centre? The only upside would be dumping Komisarek.

Pens pass. not worth moving all the players it would take to fit this trade under the cap.

Also Mac @ 3.25M is laughable.

No from Pittsburgh. We don't want to deal Staal, especially for a package with a giant salary dump and more LH shooters.

Mike Komisarek would require you to give picks to the other team for the burden of taking him on.

It's still a pass as it's two inferior players that have similar salaries for Staal.

Why is that laughable? Had a great season and is going through some early season struggles. Contract is only for 1-2 years as well so its not like its some 5 year deal.

Anyways Toronto doesn't need Staal, id rather just keep Grabo and that 2nd.

We've seen mediocre players put up points on bad teams before, which is just what happened to Mac last year. If Mac puts up 60 points again in his career I'd be shocked TBH.

Keeping Grabs and the 2nd is understandable, I'm sure both GMs would rather just keep their own assets.

I don't see Ray Shero dealing Staal, period.

Now, if Toronto wants to talk Kennedy, Tangradi, pick for Kulemin, but I suspect a proposal like that will end as well as this thread will . . .

Obviously I'm homer-ing but Mac was the picture of consistency last year.
I don't remember a night where I said "Hey, Macarthur didn't play well."
Just sayin'.

No thanks. Pens don't need to take on salary dumps for any reason whatsoever and, though I wasn't sure I'd ever say this, Staal might be taking a step forward.

I think burke would have dealt komisarek already if any gm was dumb enough to trade a pick for him; no reason for the pens to get stuck with him.

I always expected it. Six goals already, hopefully if he keeps it up people will realize he is not getting traded and these threads will stop.

GM Ray Shero laughs so hard in his office in the Consol Energy Center it can be heard all the way to Toronto.

It does beg the question, If Staal goes north of 30 goals, does he enter another tier of players in the minds of HF?

Worse question, how much will he get in a couple years if he consitatnely goes 30 goals plus a year added to his defensive game?

Why would Pittsburgh take Komisarek just to flip him. Why wouldn't Toronto just do that if it were possible?
