Does Kreider have any shot of winning the Hobey Baker this year?

YES. He is on pace for ~60 points.

Especially if he keeps potting a ton of goals. That's what separates players

Drury, Mottau, and Gilroy

I kind of hope he doesn't win the Hobey Baker.

As if Drury had a terrible NHL career?

You'll notice I only referenced NYR Hobey Baker award winners. This is because I am qualifying them on their NYR careers.

Drury had a fine career. He did not have a fine NYR career.

Or...Kreider becomes a bigger version of Paul Kariya.

I've always used Erik Cole as a Kreider comparable. Chris has a big more meat on the bones but the package is similar.

Kreider = Kesler, let's just hope he breaks out much sooner than Kesler

I got it! Ovechkin's scoring ability, Kariya's speed and Kesler's defensive ability.

The scary thing about Kreider is, that while his scoring ability may not be Ovechkin-like, your post pretty much describes him. He has the potential to be a crazy stud.

I say Kreider will be a faster Dubinsky-like player with more goals. He'll obviously be groomed as a two-way player, as long as Torts is here.

i know there isnt fighting in school but does anyone think Kreider will drop the gloves when needed or will he be like Gomez and Drury and skate away i hope this guy has some guts to stick up for teammates. i cant stand players who have size who doesnt use it.

We're not turning this into a Drury thread. Just leave it alone.

I'm sorry, but, that is the last thing I am concerned about regarding Kreider.

Who cares?

Thats what pointless 4th liners are for.

Im more concerned with him putting in 30 goals a season.

Like others said, dropping the gloves is the last thing I'm concerned about with Kreider, although I will answer your concern Punxrock. Kreider is a big physical monster. He has multiple penalties this season from hitting after the whistle, etc... I don't think toughness is an issue with Kreider. He'll definitely get his nose in and stand up for guys.

Also was planted in front screening the goalie on the game winner with 2 seconds to go.

But only finished with an assist on the sheet.

A few other prospects were/are in action tonight:

JT Miller's Plymouth team are up 8-4 with about 30 seconds left in the 3rd period. Miller has 2 assist, 2 PIM's and is a +1. The assist was a primary on Plymouth's 5th goal and a primary on the 8th.

Dylan McIlrath is back playing with Moose Jaw tonight and his team is up 2-0 with about 16 minutes left in the 3rd period. McIlrath has a goal and 2 PIM's for unsportsmanlike conduct 1:06 into the 1st period on a coincidental with another player.

Shane McColgan and Michael St. Croix are playing eachother and that game is 1-0 Edmonton (St. Croix's team) about 10 minutes into the game. Both players are scoreless so far.

Samuel Noreau's Baie-Comeau Drakkar (coolest name ever!) won 3-2 tonight in a shootout. Noreau had 1 assist and was a +1. The assist was a primary on the Drakkar first goal of the evening.

Steven Fogarty is in action tonight with Penticton, he is, around 60th in scoring in that league as a rookie (and he has played a fewer amount of games than quite a few other players).
