I know it's way too early to say this, but it looks like the Rangers drafted the right player, considering all the 'big' names still on the board (McNeill, Khokhlachev, Puempel). Though I don't know how to compare NCAA stats (Biggs) or SM-Liiga stats (Armia) to CHL stats.
Edit: Also, is Miller playing C or RW?
Its not too early.
It was clear before the pick was made that it was the right pick.
Fine with the Miller pick (he's who I figured they'd pick), but Khokhlachev is again playing pretty well, leading his team in scoring and over a PPG. Bruins made a very good 2nd round pick, and a lot of GMs are going to feel silly.
17 points in 13 games for McColgan. Great start. Hopefully he can keep it up the rest of the season. Besides Kreider, he is the only prospect who is putting up higher than expected numbers. Miller was expected to score above as point per game. McColgan doing this well is a nice surprise.

Well McColgan's been in the CHL for 3 years, while it's Millers first. It wouldn't surprise me the least bit of McColgan outscored Miller (who's been great on his own). JT has plenty of other things going for him though, and while McColgan is a battler, he's got serious size issues to overcome. Both have been impressive. St. Croix, after an awful start, has really picked it up as well.
As for Kreider picking it up as the season goes on, I think that's a testament to his conditioning, size and speed. I would certainly love if he went on a late season tear. Regardless, it has been an awesome start for him.
I think it's been well established that McIlrath's game can't be judged on the stat sheet, because the guy isn't going to be an offensive defenseman. I'd love to hear from someone how he's been defensively. Moose Jaw has a great team with Howden finally back.

We more than made up for it with the McColgan and St. Croix picks. Miller is keeping pace with Khokhlachev points wise and brings a hell of a lot more of an overall game.

Well, it's Miller's first year, but he's also 18. Developmentally, he's basically in his third year of Juniors. Miller's start is impressive, but also within the realm of what we should reasonably expect from him.

Miller's body is NHL-ready. His strength and size cant be taught. It's way too early to tell if any pick is a steal from a draft that took place four months ago.
don't think its been mentioned but after a rough start, stacjer is starting to play really well. his last 4 starts he is 2-0-2 (1 otl, 1 sol) with a 1.71gaa and .949 save %
