I know bashing Penner is the thing to do, but I REALLY would like to see him get a goal and get going. There is a definite difference in his play this season so far.

Happy for VV, before today he looked very timid out there. Much much more active and willing to shoot tonite for seemingly the first time.

PP looks much better! But why don't JJ and Voynov change position to have the one timer?

You can't look at Richards versus Schenn and Simmonds since Richards can't play two positions. It's Richards + Simmonds spot. If anyone is complaining about Richards and the trade then they are just spitting just to spit.

1. Just because someone CAN do something, doesn't mean much.
2. It has been pointed many times by the Kings, that his problem is lack of determination to reach his potential.

Only 38 years. Probably longer than you've alive

Points are points - if the Kings don't make a SERIOUS run with Richards, then the trade was a serious bust.

Just like the Penner trade

Talk to me AFTER it happens

Before this game, Simmonds has 5 points - Richards has 6.

Pretty expensive point so far ...

Yeah, I really thought Richards was going to find a way to help him get going, but it didn't happen.

Josh, the Kings traded the TOP prospect in the NHL (according to HF) AND Simmonds for Richards

If he isn't MASSIVELY outscoring Simmonds, then the Kings got hosed

Greene took a puck to the face, Voynov may not be heading down. Even so, I think it is done. There should be no question, Voynov belongs in the NHL. Hope he stays, though who knows if Lombardi is willing to lose a player over the promotion.

When it comes to skill and hockey IQ, Simmonds can't carry Richards' jock. Sorry.

Ahh come on PSP. Philly has played more games and Simmonds is just on cruise control. Schenn still has yet to make a dent and he's making 3.3 million dollars to rack up minuses and get injured. I've seen all but 2 Philly games this year and Simmonds isn't giving Philly anything more than he's given the Kings. He'll soon be a FA to boot. You can't argue Richards impact on the team. If you can, well then you've just been a Kings fan too long old chap. It's made you bitter l)

I knew how old you were....thats why you should know....points are not just "points". Do you think Alex Burrows is the 70 pt player on his own? Or do you think playing with the Sedins helped?? Some players Anchor a line some are passegers...Simmonds is currently a passenger on his line in Philly.

If the Flyers don't make a serious run does that still mean the trade was a failure?

How many pts has Teubert and Klefbom put up? Seems like you use whatever criteria helps push your agenda when judging a trade.

You realize Richards' value isn't strictly point-based, right?

To be honest I thought the first period was the worst he'd played since being called. He was muscled off the pucks, had a few turnovers and looked a bit lost.

Then the 2nd period happened. Having him play on the 3rd pair once Drew's ready would probably make the game easier for him, but Murray probably wouldn't play him over A-Mart or Greene.

Everyone in the league is within a couple of points of each other. It's the beginning of the season. If you can judge the Richards trade by 8 games than I guess I can judge Schenn by the 4 he played. He was -5 and broke his foot. I now deem him a failure.

And you act like Richards is 30 some years old with your 2 year window talk. You didn't get that older with the trade. Mike is 26, he has plenty of years ahead of him.
