Kyle Turris asks for a trade; TSN Reports 'Calgary and Ottawa Hottest Pursuers'
Sounds a lot like that Filatov guy. how is that one working out for Ottawa?
It's impossible to say at this point, he went to the ahl and they said he was too good for it. He needs to wait for a chance on the top 6, the team has been winning so they aren't gonna put him straight into spezzas wing. Da costa got hurt, played his way into 8 minutes a game.... His turn came when zibanejad left, and now he's looking good again.
Don't think turris is much like this player anyways.
He was just recalled from Bingahmton after tearing it up down there, IIRC.
They traded for him to be a top-6 NHL player, but if he really has turned it around then I take back my comment. (I don't think he has)

It's my opinion that they should go after higher character players, and avoid guys like Turris or Filatov. It's a fine gamble, but you'd think they wouldn't want to go down this road again. IMO, the Filatov experiment has disappointed (even for just a 3rd round pick).

Take it from Binghamton's coach Kurt Kleinendorst, Filatov was nothing but character down there. We are still developing the guy.
If you saw him play the latter half of the season and playoffs...you could really see that he turned a corner. Could be a hell of a pick up if he brings that same intensity.

Do you always only read the last sentence of a post?
Filatov didn’t excel for any stretch of games with CBJ, and certainly never ‘turned a corner.’ Plus, Filatov hasn’t been half bad, better than any 3rd rounder and with far more potential. He certainly hasn't lived up to expecatations, though. He's been the opposite of what he was advertised; good defensively and without any character issues. His problems in Ottawa have been offensively. Turris has demonstrated he can play at a high level, and looked poised to break out last season. Still, I hope the Coyotes reach some kind of understanding with him and manage to sign him to a contract. They don’t deserve this after all they’ve been through.

99% sure that Shanny was referring to Kyle Turris in that post.

The Sens don't need character guys, we have plenty of that in our bottom 6 and many of our prospects, we lack true high end skill. Filatov brings plenty of it. Plus, he's received nothing but praise for his time in Bingo, so I'm not sure it's even an issue.
Are you sure? He mentioned playoffs and playing well.
Yeah, Turris was probably the most dangerous and consistent offensive threat against the Wings in the '11 playoff series against. Was his coming out party, more than anything.
