Jets fall 2-0 to Sharks

Pretty "meh" game but I had fun before game time so it wasn't ruined.

Disappointing game. Absolutely nothing positive out of tonight.

The Sharks played well. At least our Sharks friends will be happy.

Defense was fine, Pavelec was good.

Offense is non existent. Pretty much looked the same way as when I was at the Toronto game. So while SJ may have played a good shut down game after the 1st period, this isn't the first time these guys have looked so futile in the offensive zone.

Noel needs to seriously start doing some proper line shuffling. Stop rewarding Andrew Ladd with top line minutes when all he does is fire weak ass wrist shots and take offensive zone penalties. Put him on the 3rd line and Kane back with Little and Wheeler. Also put Burmistrov back with Antropov and Wellwood and stop ****ing things up.

It has worked before so when times are tough as they are right now logic would dictate that perhaps you go back to basics and what worked in the past.

I hope they can grasp that.

Boy I'm sure glad we had Flood out there instead of Buff. This team certainly doesn't miss Buff at all.

I hope the Jets have been taking notes the last couple of games. A pair of disiplined veteran teams have given them some lessons. Sharks are an extremely sound defensive team...virtualy no mistakes. Quiet crowd tonight, taken out of the game by the Sharks. Only player who showed up tonight was Pavs. Ladd keeps his steak of offensive zone penalties alive.

No real defensive problems at all, save for the fact that there's no right handed shot out there beside Flood. Flood is ok but he can't be the go-to guy for that kind of stuff. I don't think that we can blame anyone in the back for that.

Ladd went fishing and caught a big one again. I'd love to see how many hooking penalties he's got this year. One of the laziest penalties to take.

No offence to speak of, but I think the Sharks had as much to do with that as the Jets did. Just a ho hum game, typical "back from a road trip" game, which they need to fix. Big game with NJ on Saturday.

Ok I like Ladd, I really do. There is nobody who I want to see score points than Ladd aside from Kane. But some captains try spark their teams when they are behind. By creating chances, scoring, or delivering a big hit. Maybe starting a fight.

Ladd takes a bad penalties in the offensive zone. And doesn't own up to it in the post-game interviews. And he's wondering why the team isn't getting that emotional push.

I don't know what kind of leadership or inspiration he's providing in the locker room or behind the scenes, but I sure don't see any of it on the ice lately.

Nothing positive?? D and Pavs allowed only 2 goals against, Pavs made 35 saves.

Tough game, tough loss. Wheeler looked a little slow tonight and was pressured every time he had the puck.

The Shark's D-men were incredible tonight. They played really well.

The only players who could be considered to have a good game are Pavelec, Flood, and Glass. The others either sucked or were up and down.

Wellwood diving penalty was atrocious but I will forgive the refs for this one.

Jones made an excellent play on the PK to clear the puck batting it with his stick/hands and out of the zone even though he was covered by two other Shark players. Speaking of the PK, it was pretty solid.

Some of the Jets seem to be mailing it in lately, hello Anti, Burmi, Antro, Fehr, Wellwood!

Back on the Sharks: someone on their thread said it well, the Sharks rolled 4 lines who clicked effortlessly and were defensively sound.

I agree Pavs was outstanding and the D definately held their own considering how depleted they are. But the Sharks were so defensive first that they rarely pushed offensively. Still they did have by far the most scoring chances. I was hoping that somehow the game would open up but they never let that happen. Classic road win, with a score that favoured the homeside.

Three problems with this team;

1) Too many 3rd/4th/5th/6th liners playing above their natural environment.
2) No 1st line players.
3) Pavelec can't score (he's doing pretty well everything else).

Very boring... Jets looked lost without Buff and Bogo to bolster the back end. The looked content to play for the 2-0 loss.

There was an altercation in the main level concourse right in front of the music stage after the game. Sharks fav vs Jets fan. Didn't see the start of it but it ended with a garbage can flying. There was a guy in Sharks jersey trying to get away from the situation while another guy in Selanne jersey (I think) held the assumed Jets fan against the wall in the women's bathroom. Then some lady shouting at the Jets fan saying "You're such an idiot! Grow up!".

Good times.

According to TSN, the Jets had 11 scoring chances to SJ 8 after 2. That's one good thing about being in the 300 seats is the TVs up in the stands.

Aside from Toby's gaffe on the Sharks first goal he was solid tonight.

Yeah I have a share of season tickets on the 300 level, low down just off the centre line. I watch the game pretty much from the main camera view.

That's terrible, I hate that kind of stuff. Alcohol, youth, and testosterone. What can you do.
