I live in Illinois and switched from cable to DirecTV so I could get more sports than my local small cable co. That being said, I added the sports pakage because it offered all of the FS channels (and more) around the country. I thought "Awesome, I will be able to watch my Pred home and away games!" I WAS able to watch the first 2 weeks but know am unable to watch any NHL games. DirecTV says that unless I live in a certain zip code, they are blacked out. They could not answer as to why I was able to watch the first 2 weeks. Anyone have any ideas? I really don't want to buy NHL Center Ice! This sucks!

The Center Ice freeview is why you got the first two weeks.

Yep.

Also, they're doing battle with Fox like Dish did last year. So prepare to lose the FS channels for a bit.

There is almost always a stream to the game. I know it isn't the same as watching on your TV, but it's better than nothing. I'd be pissed off, too, if I were you.

Here in California I have to buy NHL GameCenter because in my zip code, my cable company doesn't even offer Center Ice. I love it though, and I just stream it through my PS3.

BTW, since you're from Illinois you wouldn't happen to have Charter would you? In my zip code it's either Charter or Dish Network and it's annoying.

No, not Charter. A small co called CassComm cable. I live just outside Springfield, 5 min, which has ComCast. I literally can look outide my front door and see houses with Comcast cable and I had to have a small cable co that only had about 15-20 HD channels and did not offer Center Ice or several of the ESPN channels. Hence the switch. Anyone have any Center Ice coupons they are not using?
