We knew if we kept generating chances, sooner or later the flood gates were going to open. Luckily they did tonight, at the right time, when we needed it, and it was a big win for us."

He obviously played well last night too, and he showed that he can compete at this level. I think he has in every game that he’s played. So he’s been playing great, but at the same time hopefully I can get back in the lineup. [laughs]."

The goal that they scored at the start of the third period, it wasn’t a power play but we were just getting back to 5-on-5 play. The other one was just one of those quick plays that they made. It wasn’t a breakdown so much as they made a strong play, bang-bang from behind the net, to find a shooter. That’s their patented look, and it paid off for them, it worked. The sign of maturity is that we recognized that situation and, `Hey, everything is OK, we just have to keep playing.’ We had a good 50 minutes, up to that point, and we wanted to keep building on it and it paid off for us."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Loved the VV quote PuckU, awesome.

Kings should win this one, as long as they play hard. Offense has been a bit hit or miss, so hopefully they get into a grove here. I think penner scores in this one, likely gets a pair.

I say Penner gets three points and the Kings win 5-1. Doughty will get at least an assist. Kings get a boost from his return and it sparks the offense.

4-2 Kings. Goals from Kopitar, Richards, Penner, and Doughty. Doan scores two for the Yotes...because it's Doan.

I think the Kings will have a very dominating game tonight. Hopefully Parse can use his speed to compliment MR, who needs a winger who is fast and can pass to him. MR needs to score.

This is from ESPN LA today...and I agree...if your team is consistently stellar in special teams work, it's a recipe for sucsess and that gets more W's, which will help a good long mid June drive in the playoffs.

Quote:
2. Really, really special -- Only three teams in the NHL are ranked in the top 10 in both power play and penalty kill efficiency and the Kings are one of them. Buffalo and Pittsburgh are the others. It’s no coincidence that the three teams also have a combined record of 20-7-3. Winning the special-teams battles has always been a main ingredient in overall success and the Kings have been sharp on both ends ever since the preseason. The return of Doughty, a key member of both units, will only make them stronger.

Same here. I'll be at the game vs the Avs and I really don't want to see Bernier in goal.

Quick back-to-back?

I wonder if TM takes the altitude into consideration.

I'm sure Schenn would be the opposite, he'd have 8G 1A.

Nice to see Parse still up on that line, Kings 4 lines look much deeper with this set up, IMO. Too bad it's such a late start over here as I have a Halloween party and tjerefore will not get a chance to watch it, but GO KINGS GO.

And the Gagne injuries begin
Quote:
Simon Gagne’s day off the ice yesterday, it turns out, was more than a “maintenance day.” Gagne won’t play tonight, because of an injury that Terry Murray did not disclose. Trent Hunter will replace Gagne, who is considered day to day, and the Kings’ forwards are expected to skate as follows…

Penner-Kopitar-Williams
Parse-Richards-Brown
Richardson-Stoll-Hunter
Clifford-Lewis-Moreau
