Do any of you actually watch the games, or do you just tell people who think there is a serious flaw somewhere with this team to shut up and hide behind the sunflower rock?

Jesus. This team is either A) Not very good or B) There is a flaw in there with the coaching. I'm not exactly sure how it can be something different than those two.

These guys don't look like they belong in the NHL right now, and they also don't look to be trying very hard. Is that not a reflection on the coaching? Is it not clear as day that Weight is being groomed to take over whenever Cappy fails (Which, I can't ****ing see how this quality of hockey can go on for much longer before someone opens a god damn eye somewhere in this organization)

When do we start DEMANDING more as fans? Take out your frustration on me all you want, this team SUCKS RIGHT NOW.

Blame me, I don't care, but are we just going to meddle along as a .500 team or do we just accept the fact that we suck?

As I asked in another thread (Three things, started by me!) who can and will come here?

Does anyone here honestly think Doug Weight will turn this team around?

Maybe Doug will turn out to be a great coach someday, *SOMEDAY*, but, today isn't that day, nor is this season, that day.

My guess? Some point in the next month Jack is canned. It's easier to deflect blame onto the coaches than it is to fix the actual problem.

So, thoughts?

And please don't storm into this thread trying to convince the masses how the Islanders are good and the season is young. If the Islanders are good, they need a system that makes them look "good".

Do we even have a system? I saw a little bit of a 1-3-1 trap, but aside from that, I am honest to god not sure what type of system these guys are playing.

What is going on around here?

Wow not even 10 games in and this talk already. Why cant you just be patient... like that patiently waiting guy.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but he is that Patiently Waiting guy, y'know, the same guy who was trashing the Rag$ after we beat them and telling their fans how their defense was going to get get picked apart by our offense. Or how the Ranger$ offense couldn't stack up to ours because they had an "overall lack of speed and talent" outside of their first line. Funny how not even two weeks ago there was so much optimism and four games later we are waiting for Capuano to get fired and let Doug Weight take over. What is funnier yet is that if Doug Weight does take over, the "bush league" and "Wang is cheap" comments will be guaranteed.

Did anyone else notice that we're one point ahead of the Stanley Cup winning Bruins who are in last place? I guess if we think that what we see now will translate into what we see the whole year, it's official, the Bruins will finish in last place in the eastern conference.

What's bugged me the most with Jack is that we haven't gotten the line matchups we need out there. Way too often were Mottau & Eaton out there against the other clubs top line. As much as I appreciate the 4th line, they also shouldn't be playing against the top lines. They gotta tighten that up.

Well it's ridiculous to think the early season standings will translate over 82. However, if you had to bet on 1 team finishing over .500, you wouldn't bet on the Isles.

If we have a bad losing record by December, than there is a really good chance Cappy gets fired. But its way to early to tell

Yeah, because in recent history, the Bruins typically finish in last place and the Isles don't. Right?

FFS, it's only been 7 games. If we fire our coach after 7 games, what image will the rest of the league have of us? It's not like we've been a cup contender throughout the last decade, were a rebuilding team trending slowly upwards. Just give it some time and the results will come.

The Month of November will make or break this team. That schedule and the teams we play are TOP notch. If we can win most of those games, we could be golden for the rest of the year. Very crucial month with that schedule. We have the

Sharks left in October but then comes real HOCKEY boys.

Jets
Capitals
Bruins
Avs
Canucks
Rangers
Habs
Bruins
Penguins
Flyers
Devils
Devils
Sabres

1) Seeing as how they won a cup last year I don't think a last place finish would be that bad.

2) We know the Bruins will not finish last and winning the cup last year shows their team does indeed have the talent to win.

3) The Islanders have been finishing in the bottom of the league for years so to compare them to a team that did indeed win the Cup last year is a stretch.

I understand your point and no one should be going off the deep end yet. However, night and day difference from a team whose fan base has seen that roster succeed oppose to a fan base that is already thinking about the likes of Yakupov, Murray and Forsberg.

Cappy deserves this year and next year to see what this team can do. We have the likes of Nino, Strome, Kabanov, deHaan, etc... on their way and Capps should be able to see a roster with the likes of those kids through before calling for his head.
