Most competitive division this season?

Last year, it was the Pacific (4 playoff teams and so close to everyone getting in).

Which one will it be this year?

Both the atlantic and pacific divisions are looking like they are going to be competitive.

Atlantic, possibly.

I believe the Pacific has this locked-up again (unfortunately)

I think the NorthEast....tight between 4 teams.

Boston, Buffalo, Toronto, and Montreal.

Let's look at the current situation:

Atlantic : 18-7 = 11 point difference
Northeast : 13-6 = 7 point difference
Southeast : 14-7 = 7 point difference
Central : 12-3 = 9 point difference
Northwest : 14-9 = 5 point difference
Pacific : 14-10 = 4 point difference

This is just difference from first to last in each division. There is plenty more that adds into it, of course, but Pacific, the Coyotes have taken the Stars to Overtime both times so far, the first place and last place teams, respectively in the division.

I'm going to have to go with the Pacific.

What a scientific analysis! Maybe you should take into account the fact that pittsburgh has so many games played hmm?

Nawww because that would make sense!

Damn someones mad.

Pacific has the slight edge, I just don't see the Devils and Rangers and Islanders all staying so competitive all year. Plus Philly might have some trouble brewing. Oh well it's anyone's guess.

I would love for someone to photoshop some pacific players. Where are the Sharks fans when you need them?

Pacific easily...

total amount of pts

Pacific: 58 pts
Northwest: 53 pts
Atlantic: 53 pts
Southeast: 52 pts
Northeast: 49 pts
Central: 44 pts

That's pretty much how I would rank the divisions.

More like the Pacific is overrated and has some known chokers. Of course the people in the west think the Pacific is the most competitive but thats just wrong. Its the Atlantic not close. 4 playoff teams and a young team that is probably better than phoenix now.

These threads are always hilarious to look at at the end of the season. It's also true in the NFL.

Oh yeah I forgot the playoffs start today....wait that's not right, oh you mean last seasons playoffs because there were more Atlantic teams than Pacific in the post season...wait that's not right. Atlantic is a good division but Pacific has the edge.
