Pretty excited for this one, hopefully given the ceremonies the Islanders come out hard and play with some energy. I think this is a game they can win. Even with DP in net...

Speaking of DP however, I am dreading reading this thread later. Joe Pavelski can be all alone in the slot and take a twisted wrister and score, and I can 100% guarantee DP will be blamed, but if something like that happened and Nabokov or Montoya was in goal nothing would be said, which is absurd.

All I ask from the DP haters is, take the glasses off and atleast be objective. Don't blame him for goals that aren't his fault, aka deflections, pucks off our own skates etc..

Here's to a great game tonight

In case anyone's curious, Thomas Greiss will be in net tonight for the Sharks.

We may win tonight. The Isles played pretty well against the Penguins. I'm going to be optimistic and say 4-2 Isles.

If he was in game shape condition id probably agree lol

Not bad at all. Where I am located in Suffolk County it is not even snowing.

As much as I would like the Isles to win, I hope Greiss has a good game. He is one of my favorite young goaltenders. Plus, his mask(s) is pretty sick:

I'm sure you'd be fine seeing the Isles score 6 goals on him.

As long as those 6 are only 10% of the Isle's shots

Speaking or Tavares, it was just reported on Hockey Night in Canada, that Jordon Staal is a scratch today with a "lower body" injury!!!

Looks like running JT may not be such a good idea this year.

What's to like about him? He was the worst goaltender in hockey last year. He gets blamed for the bone head plays he has been making for years.

Cleaned up the first post a bit, was able to find some better pics, etc (not easy finding the 92-93 team).

Sharks fan just popping in to say that Greiss is our starter tonight, not Niemi. Also, it's Havlat and Thornton.

Looking forward to a good game!

Excellent GDT Law! I may need to plagerize a few ideas.

Good luck tonight. I was hoping to see Nabby in net, but, oh well...
