Ha, for once the Caps get screwed by not being penalized by the refs.

Habs fan here... i don't speak for the entire fanbase but i don't know of a single person who's heartbroken over him not being re-signed in MTL.

To be tied at this point is a real gift. They need to respond physically or they're going to be in for a long night. Vancouver's checking has been great tonight. The Caps have the size to play that game. Might mean less time for the likes of Perreault, though.

I don't care how he's doing it, I'll take an Ovi goal any day of the week.

Hamrlik's played some big minutes so far. He's been a great pickup.

It's a real stark contrast in fourth lines in that regard. They should be able to take advantage of a head-to-head skill edge but not if they're uncomfortable at the pace of play.

To really match them physically they need to dump and chase more and I don't think that's a real team strength. It wasn't last spring and still isn't.

BS call. Rewound and looked at the penalty again and Kesler hit himself with his own stick...

They have the bodies to do it, but it's certainly not a game they've played much for a while, it's true.

Vancouver has a chip on its collective shoulder right now, needing to string together a few wins, and it's fueling an unusually up-tempo game for October. The Caps need to find a reason to play as desperate as is Vancouver at the moment. Tall order.

2-1. A bit of lackadaisical play in the net might be all it takes tonight for the Caps to let this one slide away.
